I don't know about you girls, but I take my rings off anytime water and a drain is involved. I don't wear them in the shower or doing dishes, or if I'm cooking something that involves raw meat and I have to wash my hands after handling it. But then sometimes I forget to put them back on! Like this morning... took them off to get in the shower, got dressed and ready and then walked out the door without them on!

I miss them when they aren't with me. LOL

I take them off when doing major gardening (think, digging up a palm tree, not potting a plant) or if touching super sticky dough or scrubbing the grout. Everything else is doable with the rings, and I give a good ol' rinse when I'm done. I hope it doesn't freak out my hubby, but these are diamond and gold, not plastic on plastic. They'll hold up! I don't like to leave anything valuable unattended. I'm constantly checking my finger when it's gone, and the only other things I own that are $ are cars and you bet your toosh I'm double locking those on the way to go anywhere. I'm paranoid.

I never take mine off unless the FH wants to polish it.  When he does have it I keep checking my hand constantly.  Drives me up a wall not to have it on.

Yeah, whenever I shower or whatever I usually take them off.  I use huge rubber kitchen gloves when I do the dishes though, so I'll keep them on then.  I'm so paranoid about losing it or forgetting them somewhere!  I've only left the house once without it on and it bugged me a lot:)  It's amazing how attached we get to them!

I have a plain wedding band which I NEVER take off. If I'm doing something dirty or handling raw meat, I wear gloves. My e-ring is very elaborate, with lots of little diamonds, so I don't wear that around the house, just when I go out - but sometimes I do forget to put it on! I actually can't get the e-ring on right now (pregnant), and I miss wearing it so much! Luckily the wedding band still fits fine.

I take my ring off when I go to bed (put it in the ring box) and I usually put it on right before I'm about to leave the house in the morning, so it's off when I work out, shower, get dressed, put on make up. I sometimes take it off if I'm doing dishes or cooking. And I take it off when I exercise if I go at night.

I used to keep my ring in its box when I slept, but it made my husband sad. So, I got used to it on b/c it meant a lot to him! I can understand why one would want to take it off. I can't stand things touching me when I sleep, rings, hair, undies, everything included.

I take them off when necessary; showering, dishes, dirty work, etc. But I will say this morning I almost forgot to put it on before I walked out the door LOL... ALMOST

Just have my e-ring but I take it off to sleep (my hands swell at night and i wake up with a throbbing finger if i dont), shower/get ready, and if i'm doing something really messy like painting. Although lately I've been leaving it on more for showering and doing messy stuff.

When my mom was helping us paint our house I noticed when we were almost done that she'd left her diamond earrings and rings on. I was like OMG you need to take those off so they don't get dirty! Her opinion? "They're diamonds. They'll clean" haha. So I guess maybe I'll get less antsy with time.

I take mine off a lot: doing dishes, showering, gardening, cleaning, washing hands, anything involving water, sleeping.

Mine have a tendancy to come off when around water.  I need to get them resized again but haven't since we just did it.

I take mine off it I'm doing something dirty.  Usually I shower and do dishes with it on although I question if this makes the white gold "yellow" faster.

For example, I was spray painting once with my ring on.  Not a good idea.  All the flecks of paint with all the diamond flecks.  Hard to clean.

I take mine off when sleeping and showering for sure.  for dishes or gardening, its a toss up, sometimes yes and sometimes no.  I use to take it off for dishes and gardening  but now i do it so often that i just leave it on.

I take mine off for showering and dishes....and sometimes after I wash my hands, because I hate the feeling of water under my ring!  So random!  And I, too, have almost left my apartment several times before remembering to put my ring back on!  :)

I never ever took off my rings... until I bent a prong on my engagement ring. Well, when I got it back from being repaired... that SAME DAY I noticed a diamond missing from my pavee wedding band!!! UGGGHHH!!! So now I take them off during dish duty, gardening and showering... and anything my hands.

I'm the same way with the drains! I'm petrified of my rings slipping off and going down the drain to be lost forever! I also take them off to sleep at night. I would scratch up my face and my husband if I didn't!

Wow, I'm really in the minority. I guess I'm paranoid that something will happen to it. 1st thing I do when I come home - take off shoes & all jewelry. I never wear it around the house.

Personally like a lot of you I will take mine off when doing messy things and showering.  One thing I want to mention was something our jeweler told us:  Please take off your ring when doing anything that can catch on it with force and when dealing with electricity.  You can get electrocuted via the metal in the band if it makes accidental contact (he knew people this happened to).  Regarding injuries with rings this link says it best.  Just please be careful. Smile

I take mine off anytime I'm dealing with waters / drains / dirt / etc.  I'm terrified I'll lose the diamond down the drain!!  I also take mine off at night for two reasons: I'm worried the diamond from my e-ring could fall out (I'm a rough sleeper) and I noticed my finger would swell immensely and it was getting a bit painful in the mornings.  I keep them on my nightstand so if I have to get up and out of the house in a hurry I know exactly where they are.

I take mine off to shower and get ready.  When I was newly engaged I used to forget to put it back on!  Once my boss saw and she yelled "don't ever take it off!"

I have a fakey for the beach, pools and vacations.  I don't like that finger naked!

I take it off to go to the gym, because I lift weights and don't want to damage my vintage setting. I bought a cheap plain band that I wear as a stand-in.

wedding band is worn daily, although if I'm going to be messing with lots of dirt and dye at work I won't wear anything.  Engagement ring is worn if I'm going out or when I won't be doing anything too taxing (chorus rehearsals come to mind)

I don't usually wear my rings while at home.  There is only one place in the house that I will put them (jewelry box), so I always know where they are.  Otherwise, I wear them to work and whenever I leave the house.

I'm way more scared of losing my ring than I am of getting it dirty.  I always leave mine on, except when I'm putting on lotion, and then I only take it off for a minute.

I'm with Dancy - I take my jewelry off right when I get home.  When I'm away from the house, I feel naked without it; but when I'm home, I like being jewelry-free.

I guess I'm in the minority - I take everything off when I get home - rings, watch, earrings, etc.  I'm just not comfortable having all of it on if I'm just in my house doing nothing.  So I put everything on right before I leave the house and off soon after I get home.  :-)

I take off my engagement ring when I do dishes, shower, cook, clean, and while sleeping....pretty much over half the time when I'm at home.  It's because I take it off so much that I want a plain gold wedding band, so that I can ALWAYS have it on without worry!

I never took off my engagement ring.  But, now the jeweler has it as our wedding bands are being made.  I really feel strange without it.

i take mine off to sleep, then i get up and shower, get dressed and put it on. then as soon as i get in the door at home (if we arent having company) it goes right into its little box so i KNOW i wont lose it.

im big on routines so i know when i dont have it on. i have only forgotten it once, and it was because FH and i got into a small argument in the morning and i was flustered. i also had on two different shoes that day. LOL

I don't wear them to bed because I've snagged myself, my husband, and my hair before. I also don't wear them in the shower or when I'm cleaning. My husband only wears his when he is in public.

I take all my rings off as soon as I get home.  I find that I'm doing much more with my hands at home (cooking, cleaning, etc) that I find they get in the way and get dirty.  Plus I'm a bit of a klutz so I'm afraid of scratching it or hitting it against something (it has happened before!).  Even so, my e-ring's in much better condition that some other girls' rings who have gotten engaged after me!
