@80sbee: I can tell you what I don't want to hear. I am so over Macarena, line dancing, All night long, the chicken dance, etc. no more goofiness
I like some of the new songs that are out. My choices for dancing are:
We Found Love - Rihanna
You Make Me Feel - Cobra Starship
Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5
@Bichon Frise: yes, these!
I also really like Black Eyed Peas and Flo Rida - Good Feeling
Shout- Isley Brothers. Wait till people are a little loosened up, and they'll get out there and jump and wiggle down and have a blast, especially the ones that've seen Wedding Crashers.
Also, Bad Romance by Lady Gaga got the ENTIRE wedding (grandma and ringbearer included) out on the floor at the last wedding I was at. Lots of little monsters hiding out there. ;-)
I'm gonna do some flo rida and david guetta. Im also gonna do alot of stevie wonder!
@Bichon Frise: Moves like Jagger... great song if you don't listen to the words. Not sure what the older crowd will think... though THEY can't hear well.
I love love love old classics at weddings when the evening is just starting off and people aren't really ready to full out dance yet - anything Frank Sinatra is so classy at a wedding for a slower dance song choice! Once people are out on the dance floor, Shout is such a great song to get everyone going. Some of my liveliest, funnest dancing times at a wedding has been to Shout!
Sweet Caroline-you have to have something to sing all the words to!
@cant.wait.to.be.mrs.d: I love to save those for a couple hours into the wedding...the more folks loosen up, the louder they sing. LOL.
I'd never in my life heard the 'Who the F@*# is Alice' until 11:30 at a wedding dance where people had gotten rather drunk..it was HILARIOUS. OP- if you like sing-a-long songs, I'd throw in 'Mony Mony' and 'F*#& You Gently' (if your crowd is younger, they'll likely know that song). There was a spontaneous sing-a-long at the bar once to 'F*&# You Gently' (of course when I'd brought my mom and her friends out for a drink) but they thought it was a riot! And ending on 'Don't Stop Believing' will lead to lots of scream singing and hugging. Haha.
Now That We've Found Love - Heavy D and the Boys
I'm Sexy and I Know It - LMFAO
@Bichon Frise: I am SOOOOO with you on Moves Like Jagger! And anything MJ especially PYT!
