Hi. I have a dilemma. I am planning a surprise 30th birthday. I am inviting about 25-30 family and friends to take this person out for their birthday at a restaurant. I am asking guests to pay for their dinner and I will of course pay for the person’s birthday dinner. Should I tell people we are taking this peron out by word of mouth or by an invitation? I honestly think having something in writing is better but I don’t know if it is rude to ask people to pay? I just know the birthday guest would prefer to go to a restaurant instead of someone house to celbrate thier birthday and I honestly think it is too expensive to pay for everyone’s meal. Ho would I word the invite? Thank you in advance!
