I’m taking 3 days off beforehand and a week afterwards. I’m at a new job so I didn’t want to take a whole heap of time off and seeing as we’re not heading off on our honeymoon until December school holidays I don’t really have the honeymoon excuse! I was originally planning on taking 2 days off before the wedding and 2 days off afterwards but another teacher at school is getting married soon and she’s taking 3 days off before and 11 after so I don’t feel so bad extending it now!

RIght now, I’m just taking the day before, but I might end up taking two days before, but mainly because I’m taking a week and a half after!  Don’t want to eat up all my vacation time!

I took Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off. The wedding was SAturday. I’ve had friends take a week though, but if you plan it out well, you shouldn’t have to take TOO much vacation. I only had 11 days and I wanted ALL of it for my honeymoon =]

I’m doing the week before and the week after – but I’m going back to my hometown for the wedding – so the bridal shower, bachelorette, and couple’s party is all happening in the week leading up to the wedding – so I have no choice but to do that. If you’re staying in the same city, it’s probably not as dire.

But if you can manage get more time off, I’m sure it’ll make the week feel more relaxed – you’ll want to see people who are coming to town for you, and last minute things will crop up.

Hey, almost date-twin.  I’m taking three days before and none after.  I’m with you… I kinda wish I’d asked for more!

I’m taking the 9th (wedding is the 11th) to the 27th and absolutely can’t wait.  What sucks tho is I can’t take any time off from here to then, but I do get to work from home sometimes so that helps!

I’m not too sure yet. My boss is always generous about taking time off and I don’t really have a set number of “days off per year” or anything. The limiting factor will definitely be my FI’s job. Also, we’re going to have to put our honeymoon off 1 week because of FI’s job. So i’m thinking maybe like 2 days before the wedding + monday after the wedding, then the week of the honeymoon + 1 or 2 more days

I’ll probably take Thursday and Friday off before, and Monday after if we don’t leave for our HM right away, or at least a week off after if we do HM right away.

Should I get a job prior to the wedding, I will be asking for Thursday and Friday before the wedding then Monday of the following week.
