    HI Bees,

Let's get to "know" each other. What are some cool talents/hobbies that you have to share with us?

I play the violin, like sudoku and cooking, am obsessed with Japan, animals, babies and elderly people, and love music, reading, and quotes. That's just to name a few.

    Your turn!

I love design.. anything... graphic, web.

I am inherently a DIY person, so my wedding is like a giant art project.

Also into photography, gardening, and our two amazing dogs.

I play the piano quite well, and have done gymnastics/cheer/dance in some capacity or another for 20 years of my life - taking the last two off to go back to school and let my knees rest.

I also have this really weird sense of direction and I can tell you which way North is ALL of the time.

Hmmm... I used to be a really good singer, but almost 20 years of no practice and smoking has ruined that (I don't smoke anymore, though).

    I'm obsessed with music.

I like to write, although I'm not very good at it.

I play Scrabble on my iPhone constantly.

And of course, there's my fashion blog, which I am forever pimping on here! ;)

I'm an opera singer, a wine "expert" (I'm the one my friends call when they need a bottle to impress someone!), and a sporadic knitter.  If I could travel constantly, I would, but my husband might disown me if I did!

    • I'm a bit obsessed with all things cute and Japanese
    • I'm pretty good at amateur photography

@Dragonsus, hey that's pretty awesome about you being an opera singer! I think vistagirl's FH is an opera singer as well. I'm a theatre stage manager and I work primarily in opera. How funny!

    Hmm okay

    • I was a biomedical engineering major at an ivy league school
    • once was an avid writer (historical fiction i love)
    • was a court reporter for four years and actually had an article published in a state journal
    • own an event design business
    • have recently began to delve into all things creative, i have always had a quirky eye just not necessarily known how to put things together, or thought that people would like the way that i do, now i love it and honestly don't really care what others think (perhaps I am now a true artist since I don't care lol!!)
    • have an 8 year old son (9 april 1) and will soon have a nine year old daughter and 7 year old son
    • hate working a regular job (8-5s are not my forte)

Oooh, the violin.  I've been meaning to learn.  Along with my flute that I paid $3 for and have had for a good 10 years.

I do the sudoku, jumble, and sometimes the crossword daily.  Often I do several.

    I enjoy video games.

I'm semi-learning Japanese, Korean, and Russian at the same time, but don't know much of any.  I'm thinking I'm going to focus on Russian for now, since I can't find any of my useful Japanese books.

I play the piano.  One came with the house, I was super-excited.

I keep the weirdest collections:  small toys, ramune marbles, odd dolls...

I like to cross-stitch and bake.  My friends from pre-college would not believe the mushy-domestic type I've become. >.>

I love all things vampire...and this was before they became so chic.  Pre-twilight.

I adore music, my dogs, I've written a childrens book but it's not published and I have a few more in my head.  I'm starting my own business soon.  I love Polish Pottery and if I could work with animals every day for the rest of my life I would never take a day off.

I am an absolute bookworm! I have like 5 bookcases full of books. I have my B.A. in English and Social Science as well as an M.A. in English.

I love planning trips and going to different places but have never been out of the country.

I studied French for 4 years and am dying to go somewhere where I can actually use it.

I am the person my friends go to when they need to know a random fact or how to spell a word. I'm been dubbed "the walking dictionary," "the human encyclopedia" and a few other names like that, and my husband refuses to play Scrabble with me...ever.

    Ooh, fun thread!

I ride and train horses and am training my horse, a 4 year old Mustang, in dressage.

I can cook vegetarian dishes and desserts like nobody's business.

I'm a freakishly fast reader. Not that this is a talent, per say, but it really creeps people out. (For example, I finish tests first every.single.time, and can easily read a book a night if I'm not too dead tired.)

I also have a pretty easy time understanding accents and handwriting. Whenever we're at a foreign restaurant I have to talk to the waitstaff because R just sits there saying "I'm sorry, what?"

I sing.  Have been singing for over 30 years in fact (I'm 40).  Was featured twirler in college.  In fact, during college football halftime games I could twirl up to 3 batons, knife batons and 3 batons of fire!  Yea baby :)

Although I'm much more into Chinese mythology and history and Japanese cuteness! :) I've never been but I would love to one day. You?

MissMoo, yes I have been to Japan and am longing to go back. I have two young ladies that are my "sisters" that I met while over there. They have been here twice...so i guess it's my turn.

    Um lets see....

I've been sewing since high school. I actually went to prom 3 times and made two of my dresses. No I will not post pics...thank you. Lol.

I am a total DIYer. So a lot of my wedding items will be my own creations.

I can sing but have stage fright so I would never be able to do it professionally.

I to love video games and beat the new mario for wii in 3 and a half days.

I own a daycare licensed to hold 80 kids per shift and we're open 1st and 2nd shift.

Went to school for floral design (certfication), medical assisting (degree & certification), accounting (certification), barber/cosmetology (degree and license) and early child care education (degree and license).

I to am a mom of a darling 2 and half year old little boy.

*I love to write and would love to write greeting cards :) cheesy happiness!

*I enjoy working out and shopping after I've worked out consistantly (yayy for more time soon to do this)

*I graduated from Michigan State University and I bleed green ;)

@sewing, melon is the BEST.  Regular melon soda is even better!

There's a particular brand (not sangaria, and not yappari) that has a screw off blue part.

If I'm feeling determined and it's a brand without the screwy blue thing, then I will pry the blue thing off.

I guess I should have said that I have a crazy soft-spot for international groceries, but that's not really a talent/hobby, unless you consider driving around town to find them to be a hobby. >.>

My talent regarding shops, is that I have a Dollar-Tree-dar.  I will find most any and every dollar-shop that is not a Dollar General.

    Minutiae    May 2011

My family has a musical gene that I inherited. Lots of people with perfect pitch, music professors, etc. As birthday gifts my grandmother would bring us to the symphony! I play the flute, pic, and handbells, and sing. I'm sorry I haven't learned how to play piano or guitar...luckily for me, my SO does those two things and sings, so we write music and record songs together.

I like sewing. That's another family thing, though I'm just teaching myself by experimentation.

I'm also picking up gardening and interior design.

My dad works in construction and taught me early on how to be handy around the house. (He had three girls before he got a son, and since I was the firstborn, I got an eldest son-esque treatment, haha.) I have no problems mowing the lawn, fixing the sink, and killing bugs, but laundry intimidates me. Go figure.

I'm a writer. That's been a major part of my identity all my life.

I spend so much time on the computer writing that I'm a ridiculously fast typist.

    Cool thread.

I was a dancer my whole life & taught classes until a really bad back injury made me get "a real job".

I can bake magic in my oven. I can't cook to save my life but for some reason all my baked goods come out really good.

I've always wanted go into interior design. I'm thinking about doing going back to school for it in the next couple years. Most of my friends in recent years who've bought a home have come to me for design advice. I can't get enough of it.

When I put my mind to it, I can be a really good writer. My boss has told me I should quit working for him and go work for a publishing house. I guess it would make more sense than what I'm doing right now, I was a Journalism major.

I'm really good at sucking at DIY. It's incredible how terrible I am. Sometimes I amaze myself.

Um - I dunno if it's a talent, but I've never lost a game of flip cup. Ever.

I can make a mean mohito and dirty martini!

I can decorate the hell out of any room on a budget and love collecting vintage finds at yard sales and etsy!

bartended before becoming a paralegal and have a knack of tolerating the most obnoxious, rediculous, mean, snotty people that life throws at me with out losing my mind!

I can play guitar hero really well when I'm drunk!

can plan and oversee corporate meetings and love "high maintenance" clients like no ones business! the more high maintenance the better!

love planning our wedding and all the fun, hell and stress that comes with it!

have 3 amazing sons and love being a Mom

can read really fast and unfortunately I run out of books to read too soon!

I'm grateful for what I have and try to not complain about the little things in life...

I've been a member of a color guard for 7 years - I spin a mean flag with a marching band (and have written tons of routines!). I also play bass clarinet.

I speak spanish nearly fluently when I'm drunk...but I get nervous when I'm sober...

I love all things crafty - knitting, sewing, papery stuff, etc

I have a knack for making great drinks out of random things - I'd make a great bartender if they all didn't require previous experience :\

I absolutely love photography, and am trying to bring back 35mm :)  I love being in a darkroom and have had some kickass prints and designs displayed at my school.

I've raised several different kinds of saltwater invertebrates and done research on them...have a fish tank question?

I have a freakish memory for scientific names.

I can read really fast, and love doing crosswords.  I try to make myself faster.

I've won Jeopardy from my couch several times ;)
