So many threads are dedicated to voting and the election today, so I'm starting a thread that can float around where the discourse is election free. Think of it as a respite from politics. Or, a safe zone for the international bees to stop for the day.

    Yeah. Chat away.

I just ordered my favorite pair of jeans in a 27 when I'm currently wearing a 33. Weight loss inspiration!

And I'm pretty bored at work.

@alaska_99705:  I have a pair of inspiration jeans as well. SO thought I was being ridiculous since I can't wear them right now. Bah. What does he know. Silly men.

www.youtube.com/user/carapapaya - OH MY GOD, I just got sent this link and I cannot stop laughing. This girl is basically summarizing 50 Shades of Grey chapter by chapter. She's only got 4 chapters up so far, but it's a good way to waste a few minutes if you're bored.

Yeah, boss is out of the office this week and left me no work to do. I'm really reaching at this point and it's only Tuesday.

I just bought some Laura Mercier flawless skin lip balm today as a treat to myself.  I LOVE it.

I can't believe I'm just now discovering her beauty products!

I like leftover Halloween candy.  New Jersey's Halloween was yesterday, but no one came around.  Luckily not much was bought by MIL so I'll take some to work.

Guys, I'm the mother of the bride. Do you think it would be insane if I didn't wear a dress or skirt but dress pants? The wedding is in a rose garden so very casual.

I really dont have the body for a dress and I'm going to be working my ass of so I'd like to be comfy.

@Jer72:  Dress pants are totally fine.

EDIT: Although it is my personal opinion that everyone CAN wear a dress, you just need to have the right style.  ;)

I have a migraine, and I finished all my work.  Can I go home now?  *sigh*  But I've already used like, 5 sick hours this quarter, and if you use more than 16 in a quarter, you can get in trouble.

@Jer72:  I say go for it. One of my coworkers did this for her daughters wedding not too long ago and she looked fabulous. Annnd, she was completely comfortable.

SO is working from home today because he went to the midnight release of Halo 4. Is it wrong that I got a bit happy telling him HE needed to make dinner? He rarely does.

@Sunnyday278:  This girl, too!! I actually exchanged Christmas wish lists the other day with someone (just for fun). What he gave me included a list of items along with prices. What I gave him had one item and looked like this:

    Dandelion D's Christmas List

    1. A pony - Prices vary by location.

@LGenz:  Good idea.  I would donate it to kids at shelters around here if I had that much.

@Jer72:  I think that's a wonderful idea.  I wish my mom would have gone with her idea of doing the same.

@StuporDuck:  Good idea! I love politics but I can't really talk about it at work.

Speaking of work, I'm convinced I'm allergic to the office. I'm find if I even walk outside to go to the bathroom, but as soon as I step back in, my throat gets scratchy and my nose gets congested. WTF.

@Jer72:  I'm pretty certain my mom will wear pants to my wedding as she just doesn't really wear dresses.  I have no problem with this.  I'm more concerned that my dad not wear the khaki shorts he normally thinks qualify as dress clothes...

Thanks guys. I've only just turned 40 so I don't want something matronly or inappropriate. Plus, I've just finished chemo so m hair is sparse and I'll probably wear a wig. I'll feel obvious enough when I would rather just blend.

I had to bring in FMIL's leftover Halloween candy. She buys SO MUCH and only ever gets a handful of kids (surprising, since she lives in a neighborhood), so she pawns the rest of it off on us. We haven't even made a dent in the bag of peanut butter cups she gave us weeks ago!

Also, I am torn. up. today. I have six parallel papercuts at the bottom of my thumb (on the back of my hand), one on the webbing between my thumb and forefinger, and a really awful hangnail on my forefinger. Same hand. Also? I sliced open my tongue on something eating a stupid granola bar.

@vorpalette:  I feel like Halloween/trick or treating is dying off.  It seems to me that every year there are less and less kids.  I am wondering if it's because majority of parents are always working to get by.  I can't speak for this year though because as I mentioned above - ours was pushed back almost a week because of Hurricane Sandy.

@Jer72:  My aunt was going through chemo for two of her son's weddings, and she wore a wig.  :)  It was weird because she never did, other than that, so it was like, "Wait, how do you have hair??"
