I haven’t eaten them yet, but I have seen them on the Dr Oz show.

My coworker drinks them with water, she’s vegan and she says it helps her get certain essentials she needs since she doesn’t eat meat, I’m not sure what beyond that though o.o

I use them! Chia seeds absorb a lot of water, so I use them before I do long runs to keep me hydrated.

Once you get them wet, they get slimy and form a gel.   I usually just put a dry spoonful in my mouth and drink water to get them down.  They don’t really have a taste at all.

@hermitcrab:  I’ll occaisionally bake with them or sprinkle them in my oatmeal. They have this nutty flavor that I enjoy. Like another PP said, they form this gooey gel when you mix it with water that I find a unpalatable. They remind me of flax seeds.

I’ve tried them (my mom is a health nut and loads me up with things when I visit home lol) and I like them. They remind me of poppy seeds, consistency-wise. Really no major flavor. I would eat it plain or add it to yogurt or cereal to cover up the ‘crunch’ or add a little crunch to something else. I’m in favor of them!

They look gross (FI has a bag of them that I thought was dirt)… but Fiance swears by them for energy before/after workouts.

My mom started buying them and adding them to her smoothies and I think I’ll do the same. They seemed kind of expensive but I’ve heard they have great health benefits. I usually make a smoothie with blueberries, banana, oats, milk and sometimes kale so I think I’ll add chia seeds to it. My mom says you can’t even taste them in the smoothie.

When I decided to limit my dairy intake, I needed a substitute for my daily snack of Greek yogurt. My trainer suggested making a chia seed pudding with pumpkin, and it’s amazing! I think daily dose of chia seeds is very satisfying. I love the texture – it reminds me of tapioca pudding.
