I'm 5'8.5" and my fiancé is 6'. When I wear my typical 4-5" heel, I am taller than him by a little bit. When we take photos together, we often use some sort of optical illusion to make him appear much taller than me. I would never forsake the heels and will be wearing them on my wedding day. If I'm a bit taller than him in some photos--so what?
I'm 5'8" and my FI is 5'6". I am wearing flats (ok, they have a 1 inch heel) for the wedding. I did find it challenging finding a pair of flats that I really liked.
I am 5'10" but thankfully he is 6'3". I will have no problem wearing heels and still looking like tiny in comparison. Thank goodness for o-lineman size men! :)
I don't consider myself tall (I'm 5'6"), but I am taller than FI by about an inch. I found a super cute and comfy baby blue peep toe flats (could I get any more adjectives in this sentence?) based on a rec from another bee who is wearing the same pair. FI hates it when I wear heels.
I just choose to ignore it. I love my shoes to much to give them up so we will just be working it.
I'm taller, but it doesn't bother us.
However, when we took our engagement photos, our friend had us pose for one shot to make him look taller. It doesn't look right to me.
Im about 5'9/5'10 and my husband is 5'8. Its noticable in pictures, but whatever. I wore flats, mostly because even though I wanted some amazing heels, I knew my feet would kill me and I would be affraid of falling. I found some simple flats on dessy.com and then put a gagillion crystals all over them to jazz em up. The cute flats are hard to find, but they arent impossible... you just have to be dilligent. Heres a pic of us on our wedding day...you can kinda see the height difference.
And here are the shoes I made. :)

sorry the last pic is so big. I tried making it smaller, but it wouldnt work...guess I dont know how. :)
I'm 5'11" and he's 5'6" or 5'7" I dont know how tall he is exactly. After almost 5 years I don't even notice the different that much anymore.
I was going to wear some shoes with a 2-3" heel but they made my dress look too short so I returned them and will find some nice flats.
@soontobekatieb: Those shoes are GORGEOUS! And I don't think the height difference is that noticeable in your pic, remarkably considering the actual difference. Did your shoes come with that pretty green bow on them as well?
i have quite the opposit problem, we are both really short! haha. im just about 5'2 and he is 5'7 so with heels im about as tall as him and i hate it! haha, flats for me all the way ill probably even bend at the knees a little.
Well I'm 1/2" taller than my husband but I never think it looks weird--it's only 1/2". I can wear up to 2" without feeling weird about it. After that, it's just uncomfortable to hold his hand or feel feminine if i'm all dressed up. I'm already 5'11".
That being said, i wore some cute flat sandals because I didn't order my dress in a long length. I'm not a heel person, nobody saw my shoes, and i didn't want to be bitching about how bad my feet hurt by 8pm =].
I am only about 3 inches shorter than my husband so I decided to wear 1" heels at our wedding. They were high enough to still feel like heels but not so high I was taller than him.
I loved shopping for shoes on Zappos and Endless BTW because you can sort by shoe height!
You can kinda see my shoe in this picture
I'm almost 5'9" and he's about 5'6". He used to be super sensitive about it and it made me feel kinda weird. I know he never ever thought he would end up with a woman who is taller than him, but he knows it's worth it
. I'm almost done feeling weird about it, but I definitely always wear flats around him. He thinks it's funny that I rock heels every time I go out with my girlfriends.
@soontobekatieb - those shoes are freaking killer! I think you could go into business, I'll be your first customer!
I am 5'11" but luckily FI is a bit taller, at 6'2". I'll still be wearing flats on our wedding day, though. :)
I'm also about a half inch taller than my husband. His dress shoes make him about an inch taller. I wore a 1" wedge, so I was still about half an inch taller than him on our wedding day. The slight wedge I felt gave me better posture and an overall "leaner" look than flat-flats, and that was more important to me for the pictures than being slightly taller than him. In this picture you can tell, but for the most part because of the different angles, you couldn't tell that I was a little taller:

I am between 5'10" and 11", but my FI is taller at 6'1" or 2" (not totally sure). I usually feel fine wearing heels up to 3 inches, but I will be wearing flats for my wedding, for the same reason as ejs! I didn't order extra length on my dress.
I'm 5'8" and DH is 5'7". I wore 2.5" heels on our wedding day and changed into flats for the reception. It bothered me originally but I really didn't notice at all in the pictures when I got them back.

I'm about 5'8 and fi is around 5'5, it really doesn't bother us. That being said I don't like little heels...when I wear heals they're usually 4 inches (and I do wear them around him under normal circumstances) so for the wedding I'll be wearing flats or else I would tower over fi AND our officiant. I'm in the process of bedazzling some simple open toed flats. But for the rehearsal I'll be rockin the heels!
Im 5'9 and Teddy is about 5'9 also..but i really think he is about 5'8.5....haha. anywhoo...I definately wear flats for the most part....but like some have said...when I go out with my girls...I wear some BANGIN heels. haha. I still like to wear them occasionally because they make me feel hot...but when Im 3 inches taller than Teddy I really dont like it! So when we go anywhere together Im usually in flats.
With that said....I am definately wearing FLATS for the wedding! If I wear heels my dress will be too short and then they would have to add extra length which would mean extra $$$. So that has pretty much made my decision for me.
I have already bought these for the wedding but might still buy a few other pairs before i make my final decision! :

I am 6'0 and FI is all of 5'8". It doesn't bother us but I have gotten odd looks from other people but that is their issue. I'm not wearing heels but it's mostly because I can't walk in them.
I'm about 3" taller than my husband and it doesn't bother either one of us (why should it?). I wore flats for the wedding. Of course you can tell I'm taller in the pictures but so what? I AM taller - that's who we are and how we look and I loved our pictures!
My FH is about 5'7" and I'm about 5'6" so with heels really of any sort I'm taller than him. But good news for me....I hate heels anyway, they're uncomfortable to me. Do I love looking at them? Yes, but then I take them off about 10 minutes afterwards. So I'm wearing flats for my wedding :) Also the ceremony is on grass, so I would have sunk in anyway! But no matter what, your pictures will look great because you will be so beautiful and glowing with happiness. Height won't matter!
DH is 6'1", i'm 5'7"
all my heels are usually 4 inches, so i'm right about his height usually... i think my wedding heels were 3.5 inches...
That is the same gap between my FH and me. I am 6' and he is 5'8". We do not, however, seem to get stares or comments from other people. Furthermore, it's no big deal to us.
Like you, I cannot walk in a heel with more than an inch (maybe a wedge.)
As of now I do not know what shoes I will be wearing, but I can assume I will not gain any more than half an inch.
I am about 2 inches shorter than my husband - I didn't want to wear heels though because I wanted to feel extra petite next to him..I wore flats and this is how it ended up looking in terms of height..also here are a pic of my shoes i went with..
I'm 5'9 (5'10 on a tall day- does anyone else seem to have those?) but Mr. Dear is 6'2. I still haven't decided what kind of shoes to wear, but definitely not because of any height issues! I would wear the hell out of the shoes @soontobekatieb: made, though!
@soontobekatieb: You did an amazing job with your shoes. Very, very creative!!!
I recently did a session for a good friend who is taller than her husband...I can't post a link though due to the self promotion rule so just pm me if you want to see her images.

Hi Brides! I'm a little taller than my FH by about a half inch. It's not a big deal to us, but sometimes pictures can look weird. This has also made challenging to find wedding shoes. All those heels are sooooooooo cute, but I just don't want to tower over him for our first kiss. I guess I'm traditional that way.
Tall Brides out there...are you taller than your FH? Are you rocking those heels or going with flats?
