Although I’m not over 6’0″, I had trouble finding dresses long enough (5’10”). However, many of the designers carry dresses in long lengths if you are willing to pay a little more. This probably won’t change your search too much, but I would make sure a dress is available in a long before trying it on and not count on finding a sample in the appropriate length.

I’m not tall, but I know that Alfred Angelo and Casablanca do custom lengths, and Watters and Mori Lee both do taller sizes as options.

I’m 6’0 and the dress lengths were perfect on me (no heels). Except one, that came all the way up to my shins…it looked pretty funny.

I’m turning my ball gown into an A-line by taking some tulle out, which will make it a little bit longer.

Some designers do extra lengths…I would call and ask the bridal boutique.

I am 6’0 exactly and with flats I was able to order the dress in the standard length. I have a Mori Lee if that helps.  Most designers have an option for extra length. I have done that with almost all of the bridesmaid dresses that I have had to order for other people’s weddings.

I am apparently a cm or so off being tall (news to me!) most dresses seem designed for wear with heels. So if you’re going in flats that’s likely to be not such an issue. I would certainly try some on before getting very worried about it. Good luck!

Brookiej:  Congrats on your engagement! I’m 6’1 and I’m wearing Mori Lee Blu 4914. The stock dress I tried on was 1 size too big, but it was also a little too long, so I didn’t end up having any length added to my dress. I know it was an option, though. My dress fits perfectly! The salon associate recommended I consider getting it hemmed an inch or so since I’m wearing flats, but I kind of like that it’s a little too long, since that has pretty much never happened in my life. 🙂 Good luck with the dress shopping, be sure to update us!

i’m 6 foot and i dreaded dress shopping. i found no dresses that were too short although several would have required absolute flats.

apparently most designers make their standard length quite long as it is so much easier to shorten and many women wear heels for their wedding.

my dress is also a mori lee and i can wear about 2” heels with it.

Yes I am 6 foot and ordered a watters dress it was actually really long in the standard length so allowed me to wear a two inch heel and the length be perfect I amsurprised by how long the dresses are to be honest… You will be fine.  Plus I think being taller is much easier than shorter when dress hunting…, as my 5 foot friend spent a bomb getting her dress fully remade as she beought a mermaid and it took a lot if work and cost to re construct the bottom for her height xxx

Brookiej:  I’m 6’1. I bought a stock dress that is just long enough for me to wear flats. It’s Alfred Angelo. Some dresses I tried in were laughably short. And not all designers offer extra length (And for done I wouldn’t have needed it!) I’m wearing flats, so this will work.

I was really worried about dress shopping, but it was easier than I expected. I hope you’be had good luck too!
