I just got married in Tampa (Ybor). Ya the local west coast boards don't seem to get much traffic, but I think there are a few Tampa bees on here.
@pinkb: I'm getting married in Ybor as well! Where did you have yours?
We decided on the Don Vicente Inn.
We had our ceremony out in Centennial Park, and then the reception at the Lions Eye Institute (old cigar factory). I hear the Don Vincente is beautiful!
I just love the look of Ybor in general. The brick streets and the lights....I know it will make for some awesome pictures. I can't wait!
I got married last year but I'm in the tampa area and still around if you want to talk to an already married semi tampa bee
@LpCutiPie: Sure!! So how does it feel once it's all over? Anything you would do different?
@Future_Mrs_Price: Yep that was a must for me was the street pics at night. My photog and I were disappointed a bit because when we went down to Centro Ybor after the wedding for pics a cop stopped us...you are not allowed to take pics in Centro Ybor. But we still got pics with the street lights on and around some neat stores and in a graffiti ally (that smelled of urine how romantic!) But great pics! Everyone that I have shown our pics to can't believe it was in Ybor, it makes for a great backdrop for photos!!
I'm getting married in Tampa in November at the Florida Aquarium, so we'll be right next door to Ybor. We're super excited! The catch is that we now live in Washington, DC, but we've managed to book everyone but the DJ (I'm being picky).
@stephanie920: My fiance took me to the aquarium the day he proposed to me. LOL We had been living here a little over a year and I had been wanting to go.
That should make a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

Hey ladies! I just wanted to chime in, since I'm from the Tampa area as well (although I've been married a year now...)! Macarons and Rainbow are also from the area :)
Do you guys have an idea of who/where you'll have hair and makeup done? I'm covering the costs for my girls, and wow, it's expensive!! I've looked online and found a few possibilities, but if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! Thanks!
@stephanie920: Donna Camposecco from Camposecco Artistry did makeup/hair for my wedding - she was fabulous! She came to my hotel suite on the day of the wedding for all the prep :)

I used Cari with KyleLynn Cosmetics and she was awesome! She came to the hotel (its free if you book at least 4 services). My Day Of Hair/Makeup was $130.

Hello! I live in Tampa, though I am getting married in Baltimore. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with tailors/seamstresses in Tampa? I can't stomach the David's Bridal alterations prices! Thanks!

i lived in tampa for 6 yrrs! moved to england and back to NY but my wedding is in st. pete at the renaissance vinoy!!-- im using creative collections for my hair and makeup, very reasonable and i had my trail and it was great!!
Awesome! To be exact, i'm in Bradenton, but getting married in Sarasota. What are your plans, vendors, locations, etc. It's good to chat with someone close by!!

@stephanie920: I'll second Kyle Lynn, her prices were the most reasonable I've found. I have my trial in the coming weeks so be on the look out for my post.

Hey ladies! I too am in Tampa. We're getting married at Keel and Curley Winery in Plant City. Can anyone recommend a good dj and photographer that doesn't break the bank?
@JennH516: I don't have a DJ recommendation, but we love that winery! The grounds are very pretty and perfect for a wedding.

I am using Lora Rodgers as my photographer. (Haven't gotten married yet, but signed my contract today.) Her prices are fantastic.

@JennH516: We used Jude @ Grant Hemmond and he did a wonderful job. When you call mention your budget before you ask about pricing. I guess depending on how early you book/their schedule they can be a little flexible on pricing.

I'm looking for someone to do alterations in the Sarasota area at a reasonable price. I took my dress to a seamstress who I was referred to and I had to explain to her what I meant by a bustle! Yea, definitely need a seamstress who knows what a bustle is!

That's actually where I got my dress! Small world. I didn't think of going with them for alterations. I'll give them a call thanks!
