ive seen plenty. I saw one at our country club where the brides hair was WHITE WHITE blonde, she had ginormous fakies with a low cut dress, and she was about that shade of Lindsey Lohan Orange...maybe worse. She looked terrible (although she though she was gorgeous)
I am tanning for this wedding, but I ask people all teh time if Im looking orange, and I photograph myself to be sure. Im not
I intend to keep it that way lol.
I did see some orange brides from self tanner too though. Yeeps.
@DG - her lips...yuck. My FI saw a guy with those lips yesterday (the injection site was SO obviousl, musta jsut had them done) and looked at me wide eyed and goes, "did I jsut identify lip implants?!" ahha I gave hm the benefit of the doubt.
Yuck! You see those people ALL THE TIME in LA. Their skin in the consistency of aleather handbag!
I wasn't tanorexic. But the week before the wedding I went ot a BBQ and wore my bathsuit top around. I thought sunscreen would protect me but sure enough I had an obvious tan line in my strapless dress!
I've seen a few women here, that's way obvious. I'll stick to my natural glow, thanks. = )
I'm whatever the opposite of tanorexic is. I have dark, dark, dark hair, dark blue eyes, hugenormous lips, and the fairest pinky-blue skin on the planet. I hate it, but my fiance loves it. He says it looks like snow white. I guess growing up in the south you're engrained with BE BLONDE AND TAN, K?
I have a cousin who is quite the tanorexic. At my wedding, my aunt was joking that I shouldn't hug her, lest some of the orange rub off on me!
Kate from John & Kate + Eight is getting a tinge of orange if you ask me. I've seen pictures of her from before and she used to be so pale.
Oh the orange look BLEGH. You can be tan without being freaky! I always feel weird coming back from vacation, like i'm too dark or weird looking
I agree about Kate Gosselin - she is verging on tanorexic!
Alas, I am super pale and used to tan all the time in high school (it barely even worked) but I stopped a few years ago and have tried to embrace the paleness :)
If I'm already fairly tan and I spray tan, will it turn me orange? I want to spray tan for my wedding but I am worried I'll look too tan or orangey. Anyone have experience with Mystic Spray Tans??
I'm a reformed tanoexic. I used to lay out for 5 hours at my apartment pool and THEN go to the tanner. My roommates had an intervention with me that summer. I gave up tanning over two years ago when I met my FI. Now I am an avid user of sunless tanning products and spray tanning.
My fave spray tan is Tan Envy in home (www.tanenvy.com) or California tan airbrushing (done in a salon). The MyMyst by Mystic is just ok. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the jergens gradual tanning lotion. They color is too light for my taste and it smells weird. Au Courant is another one that I really like. Not cheap, but a great product.
I did hear that Lindsay Lohan has a self tanner on the market which can be purchased at Sephora.
LOL, I think after seeing those pictures of her, I'll be steering clear of her tanning line!
I use Fake Bake mostly. I'm naturally pretty pale so it works pretty well but I just wanted to be a teensy bit darker for Vegas this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll spray tan or not.
I saw some girls in Hawaii that looked like that. Up close, their skin was so leathery! I was so grossed out.
@gvsusara-that is hilarious that your friends had an intervention with you about the tanning. Like that episode of How I Met Your Mother:
hilarious!
Lots of cancer-wary gals get spray on tans for their wedding day.
Just do a trial with your salon choice waaay before the wedding.
I have seen some great jobs.
And I have seen some gals turned orange for their wedding day.
Just a heads up!
WOW that last picture is way scary!!!
I did spray tan for the first time a couple of days ago for my bridal shower today. I think I like my normal pale skin better. I would have problems recommending spray tan to anyone who wants to look perfect, because even though she did a great job my feet are orange! Oh well.
I tan about twice a month and I love it. I have olive with a mix of pink in my skin and it covers my dark circles under my eyes perfectly. lol I'm not obsessed by any means though! All things in moderation!
@ hcritton - i've done mystic tan before, and the color was great, but i apparently cannot follow directions well and had that tell-tale line down the side of my body! lol - wish i had a picture of it...but yeah, it can turn out well, just do it right, haha.
Oh my orange! Don’t let this scare you away from trying airbrush body bronzing. Professional technicians make it a point to pick the perfect color to match your skin type. To read more about sunless tanning check out http://www.solpotion.com

I read this blog post at BookOfJoe (great site!) about the word "tanorexia" which is being addicted to tanning.
He also writes about "tanoholics" and people with "tanophilia" who can't stay out of the sun.
Read his great blog here.
Here's a nice example from his post:
Seen any brides that have gone overboard with the whole tanning thing?
