omg– I ‘ve been there! If I could have afforded it- there are a lot of hidden costs and “required” vendors, I absolutely would have had my wedding there. Their caterer, Abigale Kirsch is TO DIE FOR, the food is incredible, and the views are just beautiful. I really liked also how they do the cocktail hour in the stone and glass room. I know that if you work with them or really really push to use your own vendors they have given in– i have a cousin who threw her sons bar mitzvah there, and she demanded to use her own florist and baker– but i dont know how stong they are with weddings- they may insist. Seems like a really pushy rule to me, but they know they have the upper hand..

I ultimately ended up getting married at the Marro’s in Rye instead (it needed a lot of work to be dressed up- but turned out really fantastic). I liked being able to choose who I wanted to work with, not be given a list of people I *had* to choose. If you are close by I would suggest stopping into Tappan Hill, even just to walk the grounds, Wainwright house is also nice and in the area, as well as a few others. Good Luck!
