My FI and I registered at Target about a month ago. One item that we scanned (white washclothes) scanned incorrectly and now on our registry it says that we registered for 6 infant hooded bath towels! I tried to go online and manage our registry, but it won't let me, so I went to my local store and told them what was going on. They gave me the scanner and told me to manually remove the item and it would take it off. Two weeks later, it is still on there. I called their wedding registry hotline twice and both times it said that their registries are currently down and to call back later. My thing is though, are there always going to be issues with Target? I really don't HAVE to have a registry there, it is the third place we are registered at and we don't have much there to begin with. Should I wait it out and see if the issues are resolved or should I just delete our whole registry there? Have any of you guys had issues with Target? I have heard that it is diffucult to return items there, is this true? Thanks in advance for the input!

Oh man...I didn't know any of this. I haven't had any problems yet. I don't know what you should do...if there aren't any items you really want, maybe just delete the registry?

We didn't register at Target and this is one of the reasons why.  This is not the first I hear about something like that happen.  I read several posts here and on other boards about how Target took the liberty to add baby items to couples' wedding registries.  There were other problems reported about the Target registry, too.

Every single person I know in real life has had something like this happen. It always seems to be something about BABIES that show up on wedding registries, too. I also have had problems shopping off of baby and wedding registries from Target. Many duplicates and triplicates are purchased because their registry system doesn't seem to update itself as efficiently as Bed Bath and Beyond and I hear that they are not the best with returns. Now whenever I have to buy something off of a Target registry I just get something small (like some kitchen utensils and a cookbook- just something to actually wrap) and then a nice big giftcard so they can buy whatever they want from there afterwards.

I have heard of a few brides who have had trouble with Target not updating, not updating qty's so they get multiples and then Target has a difficult return policy sometimes (basically at their discretion).

Bed Bath, on the other hand, has a very generous return policy. May want to go with a Bed Bath registry instead just to prevent future issues.

I didn't have a single problem with our Target registry. It's up to you if you want to keep it or not. But it seems weird that Target online and Target in-stores can't help you. Did you initially create it online and then go in-stores with the scanner as well? It's really up to you, but I loved our registry and we got tons of stuff from it. We also exchanged tons of stuff with no problem!
