(Closed) Tasting at your venue?

I think it’s pretty standard for caterers to do tastings, but not when you’re going around & visiting.  I think that if you use a hall or a venue with a set caterer, they set up a tasting with you at a separate time, after you’ve signed the contract and are a definite for that location.

If your venue allows you to select a caterer yourself, you have to make appointments with the individual caterers for tastings.  That is what we did.

I thought that we would do a tasting actually in the venue, but at our place you actually just had to call and request a menu item. Then we just went and picked the meal up like carry out to sample.

Most of the caterer’s I’ve looked at do tastings after you book them, not before.  Of course they’re not the really really high end ones, so I don’t know how different that is.  But the theatrics of that might be played up on Platinum Weddings anyway 🙂
