Well my SIL had one and even though she didn't gain a ton of pregnancy weight and is still tiny, it stretched out and honestly, looks like crap. She regrets it fully.
Everyone stretches in different areas, I mostly stretched on my lower hips/butt, inner thighs, lower tummy/abdomen and breasts, and my upper hips (where low rise jeans and whatnot would sit) didn't stretch at all.
I do know a girl who stretched more in her upper hip/tummy area and her tat got a little.. embiggened? After she lost her baby weight it kind shrunk back down, but was minorly distorted.
I would just recommend using lots of moisturizer on it, to help the skin retain elasticity & help it be able to stretch easier.
I have one on the inside of my hip bone and it was a little streched at the end of my pregnancy, but went right back to normal after.
I have one in that spot...haven't been pregnant yet. It scared me a bit...but I figured if it does stretch out, I might get it covered with something that represents my children in the future.
I have my tattoo right on my hip bone, and I've been wondering about that too. I'm hoping that if it does get distorted I'll have a large enough roll to cover it in my old age! Worst case scenario is wearing a one-piece swimsuit if I feel self-conscious about it.
Hmmm, very interesting. I know it's different for everyone. I don't know if I want to chance it though. I wanted to get a tattoo on my front hip area. It would be hidden by my underwear but if it did stretch, I don't think it would stay hidden. I did want to get a small Penn State paw print... although if it did stretch it would turn into a huge paw print! lol Yeah, I don't know if I want to chance it.
I have one on my right hip bone and it stretched out horribly. It was a beautiful pink butterfly before and not it's.... i don't even know what to call it. Being pregnant made me really hate my genes but everyone is different.
My sister has had three kids and she has two stars on her hip bones-they still look normal and cute.
I have one and it did not stretch out at all- I think it really depends on your body.

So anyone have a tattoo in the hip area before getting pregnant. What does it look life after?
