Alright, I need some honest opinions. I have 2 tattoos – one I got at 15 (don’t ask how – I know it’s ridiculously young), and one I got at 18, so both I’ve had for over a decade. One is visible on my back, and I always thought I would cover it on my wedding day just because I don’t want it to detract from my dress….plus, I know that people shouldn’t get a certain impression when they see a tattoo with a wedding dress, but sometimes they do, and I really prefer not to have that distraction. BUT, now I’m having second thoughts. I saw pictures of myself with my visible tattoo in my wedding dress and didn’t hate it as much as I expected to. So, my question is for your HONEST opinion – does my tattoo detract from my dress? Do you think it creates a negative image? Would you cover it if it was you? Why or why not?

Honestly, I had to look for it to really notice it. When I first opened the thread, I looked at the pic and then went up and read your post. I only noticed it the second time I looked at the pic. I wouldn’t worry about covering it up, I highly dought anyone will really notice it.

I wouldn`t worry about covering it either. It’s not that noticible.

I like the way it looks, it doesn’t distract me from your dress, but thats just my opinion….other people will not agree with me, and if I had a tattoo that was visible, I would most deffinately cover it up…and I voted for you to cover it…but I do like the tattoo!!! Its just not appropriate according to everyone for a wedding day, (especially older family members)!!!

Thanks for the opinions, ladies.
@ForeverAndEverAfter: Thanks! Hey, that’s what I’m looking for – honest opinions. I like the tattoo, too (thank goodness, considering I got it when I was basically a kid!) but I’m really wondering how it will come across on the wedding day. I’m curious to see how this poll turns out…

My poll being at a deadlock certainly isn’t going to help me….so I’m doing a shameless bump.

Personally I would leave the tat as is, it is a part of you and you should be proud to show it.
