OK so I have shared mine a million times on this site but I love it soo much. I got it last summer. It says "[name removed]" which translates to "hope" (and no worries, I know it is written correctly because I had my Japanese teacher write it for me!)
I can't wait until the summer is over because I am getting my next one on the back my neck then!
I have lots :) I have tattoos on my upper arms/shoulders and a 3/4 back peice that I have been getting worked on for months now I have 2 sessions left of 8. Unforunately we cant finish it completely before the wedding since it needs time to heal (My FI is a tattoo artist *insert shamless plug here http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Tattoos-by-Jesse-Smith/210930835805?ref=ts*). I also have my right ribs tattooed and some assorted small ones I got when I was young and before I met my FI. I will post pictures soon :) I actually havent taken any of my back since its been getting worked on. I <3 tattoos.
Here's mine! I love it. It's on my right shoulder-blade, and I'll be proudly displaying it.
Back of the dress that's currently my top chocie:
@babyboo - Where is that tattoo? I have a guess (and a question if I'm right) but I'm not sure I am!
@abbyful - That is so elegant! I think it'll look beautiful with your dress.
I have a pretty large tattoo on my right shoulder blade. I am going to be honest - it HURTS!!!! Anyone who tells you it doesn't is lying. But I am glad I got mine and I would like to get more so don't let the pain deter you. Good luck!
@Encore: Its on my right foot :) and yes it was unbelievably painful, especially since I have a super bony foot, haha.
Good luck! I have a tattoo of an elephant on my left hip (so it won't show in my wedding dress). My grandma collected elephants and we were very close, so I got it after she passed away. Here's a pic (hope it works).
I love tattoos. I'll be very proudly showing them.

Goofy picture of me but it's a pink fading into green lotus.
I'll be getting some close these next month:

Oh and I really like this one, my FI wants us to get them.. I'm still undecided.

@abbyful-we have the same tat! Mine's on my back/side. Love it!
I love seeing all the tattoos! Thanks for sharing, everyone.
I'm ready for it to hurt - I'm getting mine on my inside forearm, just a few inches. I have a fairly high pain tolerance, though.
@PixelMePretty: I adore your "wish" tattoo - that's so unique and beautiful!
@babyboo: you're brave! I don't know why, but the thought of getting a tattoo on my foot gives me shivers. Then again, I can't get pedicures because I kick the poor pedicurist - my feet are crazy sensitive and ticklish.
I have one on my left hip that I'm not that fond of, anymore. I got it when I was 20 or so. At least it's in a place where no one sees it but me, and I never notice it much anymore.
I want to get one on my other hip of something like this, possibly:

@lilyfaith: I have crazy sensitive feet like you, too. The only thing that kept me from moving or kicking was knowing if I did, he would mess up and I would have a permanent mistake on me FOREVER!
Mine current one won't show because it is on my lower back/side. I'm planning on another one in a about a month and haven't decided wear to put that one yet. Here's the one I have now looking a little funny right after it was finished.
I have several, and three of them (on my forearm, back, and shoulder) will show on my wedding day. The other two are on my legs and will not show. These are the only two pics I could find right now:

This is an awkward pic of mine, pretty soon after it was done (I can't find another pic right now). This is on my mid back, I got it when I turned 19. It's based on art from one of my favorite books as a kid, but drawn by me. It was not too painful, it's just an outline and not too big, so it didn't take much more than 20 minutes. I'm really happy with the placement because people can only see it if I show them, no chance that it will peek out of my clothes. It will not be showing on my wedding day.
I got a tattoo just this year, so I didn't have it during the wedding. The two birds represent my husband and I and once we have children, I'll add a bird for each of them, depending how many we have. Sorry it's not a great picture, I've been meaning to get a better one. This was the same day I got it, after the redness went away.

I will say that if you prepare yourself for the worst (in terms of pain), it won't seem that bad. When he started, I was shocked and actually said "that's it?" because I had worked myself up thinking it would be worse lol Some parts did kind of hurt a bit, and he told me I needed to stop tensing up if possible because it would mess up his lines. It was just kind of a struggle to fight natural body reactions, but it realyl wasn't bad. Mine took about 40mins (probably since I flinched and he needed to fix it) but seemed to go by quickly. The pain annoying more than anything. I was worried about the healing process because I heard it gets really itchy, but mine never did.
Just make sure you always put sunscreen over your tattoo, even if you don't wear it on the rest of your body :)
@babyboo - That's what I thought and that was the question! I have one on my abdomen by my right hip, but it wasn't over bone so it really didn't bother me at all when I got it. Felt more buzzing and vibration than actual pain. But my foot is where I've always wanted one and I haven't because I know it's all over bone and is probably going to hurt like an SOB.
For the record, mine is a pair of heart-shaped cherries with three stars around it.

I'm getting my first (and possibly only) tattoo next month - I'm excited as I've been contemplating it for over two years now!
Who else is inked? Are you planning to (or did you) proudly bear your tattoos on your wedding day?
