"I like coffee; You like tea,
Here's a chance for each couple
to taste each and see!"
Please take one favor and together decide if you're a fan of Indian tea or Seattle's best coffee? Let us know in the morning!
What about using them for table assignments then you would have the couple's name on the favor? I think by the end of the night the last thing on my mind would be picking up the favors unless they are right by the doorway when people are leaving.
We are planning to put them right where guests are leaving. I thought about using them for seat assignments. The problem is that they are in boxes that are kind of big...so they won't easily fit on the table. I think it's likely people will put them under their seats and forget them. I don't know if that's more or less likely than people forgetting to take them as they leave.
I was just at a wedding this past weekend, and they had the favors by the door. Unfortunately, many didn't see them or forgot to take them. I think you have a better chance of people taking them home if they are with the seat assignments. Also, you have a better chance of people only taking one per couple rather than one per person.
I also have seen this saying with coffee/tea: Love is brewing! Enjoy a cup from Seattle or India courtesy of the Mr & Mrs!
What about a little note inside with something like:
"Mr + Mrs. Fitzics- the perfect blend"
or:
"Mr + Mrs. Fizics: Good things brewing since Aug 1, 2009"?
or:
"Fizicsguy hails from the city of coffee, Fizicgirlfrom the land of tea... Together they're the best- good things are brewing- wait and see!"
I'm terrible, don't judge!
I think all of these cute ideas are great! Oh, and I think if you can at all possibly work it out, put the favors with the place setting. People are usually just walking out the door, maybe intoxicated, making sure they have their coat (maybe), purse and keys. Or you could leave a little card on the plate for one person in the couple at their place setting to pick up a box for them to take home. Personalize the card, "Mr. & Mrs. Jones, don't forget to pick up our gift to you as thanks for attending our special day!" And maybe you could have someone passing them out? Just some thoughts.

Okay, I need some help to get the creative juices flowing.
B/c I'm of Indian descent, and he's from Seattle, we are doing favors that are Indian tea and Starbuck's coffee.
I wanted to put a little note inside the box to explain this, but have zero ideas for a cute way to word it. Seriously, the best I have is:
"Please let the celebration of our union continue tomorrow morning with coffee from <fizicsGuy's> hometown of Seattle and tea from <fizicsGirl's> ancestral home of India."
Ugh! Any suggestions?
And while we're at it, the favors are kind of expensive so we are doing enough for 1/couple (with a few extras). They don't really fit the table decor, so I'm planning to have a favor table at the reception entrance/exit. The venue coordinator suggested some kind of sign to let people know 1/couple. Any clever ideas on what to write? (it's a pretty formal event, so super cutesy/funny might be out of place)
