It will depend on how your school or union is paid...specifically which day of the month. For me (we go back on Aug 23rd too), our union has us paid every 25th & 10th of the month. So, if a teacher is just entering the system, she will be paid two weeks' worth of salary on Aug 25th. If, like me, she is a returning teacher, she will be paid all year long with the first paycheck reflecting the 2010-2011 pay scale occuring on Aug 10th. But for your specific day, you'll need to find out from someone who is within your district or union.
Hope that helps!
We get paid on the 10th and 25th but check with your district.
Crazy, but we go back and we don't get paid until Sept. 15!!! My school district is going to try to change that when we get our new contract and try to do Sept. 1.
Yup, it definitely depends. One district I worked for was first and fifteenth. The district I work for now is every other Friday. I wouldn't hesitate to call HR or payroll or whoever handles that. They get those questions all the time.
We get paid twice a month, with one three paycheck month every year. It does depend on your district. Your contract should explain the details of when you get paid as well.
@texaslawgirl: Ask. My first district, I didn't get a paycheck until the end of August (reported for in-service beginning of August, school started mid-August). When I switched to private schools, I got my first paycheck August 15, even though classes hadn't started yet (contract started August 1, though). With the pay schedule from my old district, I actually ended up getting double-paid that August...
We get paid on the last working day of the month. The pay period goes from the 16th of tthe current month to the 15th of the next month. I hate getting paid 1x a month!
Well I teach at the college level but our fall semester starts on the same day. We have a two-week lag for recording the hours and then two weeks later is the pay. Luckily for me, I am on 9.5 month contract but have my pay spread out throughout the year, so I always have a paycheck. I am looking forward to the 10% raise that will kick in with my first fall semester paycheck!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Do you get paid once a month or every 2 weeks?
My new district goes back to school August 23rd. Will my first payday be September 1st? Or September 23rd? Or August 1st?
I have no idea when my first paycheck will be. I suppose I could call and ask, but I feel kinda silly asking that... lol.
