nope but mine was a destination wedding so it was different. I didn’t invite my assistant principal either. there were 3 people at my school who got married over the summer. None of us invited any of the administration.

Why do you feel you need to invite the principal? are you inviting a lot of people from school? I only invited those people that I hang out with OUTSIDE of school. Yes, I have tons of people at my school I like and talk to at lunch and during a free period, but I only invited people I am freinds with outside of school.

I did not invite my principal or anyone I work with for that matter. But then again it might jsut be me. I like to keep my personal and professional lives very separate.

My mom taught, so I’d usually tag along for other teachers’ weddings. Some invited the principal and some didn’t.

If you really feel obligated to invite the principal, you could invite him/her to the reception, as weddings are sometimes seen as more intimate (IMO), whereas the reception tends to be more open and whatnot (again, IMO).

I don’t work in a school, but I did invite my manager and supervisors to my wedding (I had known the one sup long before he was in that position or we worked together) because I felt like I should. They all made an appearance at the reception, and it was nice, all work drama left at work.

Didn’t even consider inviting mine.  Unless you are close, there’s no reason to.  I’m inviting a few coworkers that have crossed into the friend zone, but that’s it.

No way. The year i got married I taught first grade. I only invited the other two first grade teachers and their spouses. If you are close with your principal go for it.

I’m marrying a principal and will tell you that he would definitely prefer not to get an invite out of obligation on your part. If the two of you have a friendly relationship and socialize outside of work then by all means go ahead. Otherwise, the answer is no.

@McBezel:  no chance, will prob invite my department & faculty heads along with the rest of my department to the evening though. I work with them everyday but only see principal in meetings and occasionally in passing.
