I wake up when my alarm goes off, and I find my bladder is uncomfortably full. When I go to the toilet, I get this really bad tearing pain and I feel like I can’t fully empty it because of the pain. This doesn’t happen every time I go to the toilet, just some mornings when it feels too full. Does this happen to anyone else?

That doesn’t sound normal. I sometimes have a muscular type pain because my bladder has been too full for too long (Or I had been sleeping on my belly) and it stretches, but I’ve never had a tearing pain. You can pick up some UTI testing kits at pharmacies, they’re just little strips of paper you dip in pee and if it changes color you’d have a UTI.
But that sounds like something I might see a doc for. I’ve never had pain so bad that I wouldn’t be able to finish going to the bathroom.

I would definitely go to a doctor to get that checked out, having a problem with your kidneys or bladder is no joke.

That definitely doesn’t sound like something you should keep dealing with. Go see a doctor! It really could be something more serious that none of us are thinking of, or it could be something you need an antibiotic for. Either way, something isn’t right. Go see a doctor!

I second all PP saying go to the doctor.

Are you on any kind of ketosis diet? (Atkins, Dr.Bernsteins, etc)
I followed a ketosis diet for about three months (a couple years ago), and sometimes this would happen to me. It sometimes feels like you aren’t fully emptying your bladder, or it takes forever to empty your bladder. And there can be a pain in your side.

If it’s a UTI, you can simply buy some AZO cranberry pills and it’ll clear right up. I have had this issue several times and they work like a charm (if, in fact, it is a UTI).
