Ok - so I was a night behind watching it on my DVR but this week's episode of Teen Mom just made me want to punch Ryan. He is such an a**hole!
First - he is sitting there complaining to his friends that over the 18 years of Bentley's life, he's going to have to pay $80,000 in child support. Seriously Ryan?!?! He's your CHILD! Even if you don't act like a father, you still have to support your kid. Plus - that's just over $12 a day so you're getting off cheap. It costs way more money than that to raise a child.
And then he turns around and wants to take Maci to court to get more time with Bentley. I think Maci already gives him more time then he deserves. A part of me really hopes that the courts decide he should get even less time than he gets now - that would teach him how lucky he is that Maci trys to keep him involved despite how terrible he is. Maci does such a good job raising Bentley and Ryan sits around doing nothing.
What does anyone else think? I'm so addicted to this show! I didn't see these girls on 16 and Pregnant but have seen all of the Teen Mom seasons. I hope they follow some of the girls from the last 16 and Pregnant season too. I want to see what is going on now with some of them!
I havent watched my DVR of it yet! I cant stand him tho! Normally when I have seen people take the mom to court for stuff it turns out way worse for the dad, more money less time etc. Hopefully that happens if he does it!
Yeah, he is being such a d-bag. I think he just doesn't want Maci to move with her bf.

I was SOOO mad too!! I couldnt believe how big of a d-bag he was being! If the court gives him more time with Bentley then I will have officially lost all faith in the US Court system!!! Maci seems like such a good mom and does an amazing job raising Bentley and balancing the rest of her life. It seems like Ryan is only doing this because his parents want more time with their grandbaby - but they get to see him every week! Dont they realize that many grandparents only see their grandkids a few times a year!?! I think they are being selfish because they are trying to take Bentley away from Maci just for their own happiness. Not cool!
agreed. I feel so bad for Maci b/c she's pretty much the best mother on the show and doesn't deserve that crap.

I don't like Ryan, Gary, or Amber. Ryan doesn't want Maci to be happy, and doesn't like the fact that she has found true happiness. Gary and Amber fight too much. I think they break up to make up.
I saw that episode too (okay, I've seen all of them 
), and at first I couldn't believe his douchery...but then after a second I wasn't surprised at all.
I hope she saved the text he sent her when she asked him (well after Bentley was a year old) to help out with some child support, and he just responded with "Go to court for it" or something to that effect. Now he wants to shuttle the poor kid around every few days like a hot potato, just so Maci can't pursue a relationship with someone new. What a great guy.

ughhhhhhhhh. first of all i love this show, I have a "baby daddy" (haha i cant beleive i just said that) adn my FI has been more of a dad to her than her real father! ryan is SUCH a douche. he is JUST like my daughters dad. Didnt want to help out the first year or so and then his PARENTS make him take me to court to get visitation. Grandparents, YOUR NOT THE PARENT. and i cant beleive hes gonna complain about child support! Doesnt he only pay her like 230 or something a month? thats RIDICULOUS. Maci is the best mom on there and she has to take that crap. I'm moving in 2 months after i get married and i'm terrified that my childs father is going take me back to court for more time. From what I understand, It's not in the child's best interest to go back and forth between houses every 3 days, which is what ryan on teen mom wants, so that is NOT going to happen. but if he asked for every other week he might. I would DIE if my childs father did that. He's so irresponsible and incompitant. Just thinking about it is making me upset!

Also, I could not believe the way that Caitlynn's mother was acting. I seriously think she is on drugs. There is no reason what so ever to call your daughter a b*tch, she was way out of line. I understand that she was upset because her husband is in rehab but seriously do not take it out on your child.
@LetsGoPens: I feel so sorry for Caitlynn! I think her mom is bipolar... Maybe not, who knows. She like snapped in a matter of seconds. Who says hateful things like that to their child? and shes ALWAYS giving her grief about putting her daughter up for adoption :( It was her decision and probably the best one.. get over it!
I hate Ryan. He doesn't deserve any more time with Bentley. Actually I think Maci has been way to nice to him so far.
I just watched it! Both Ryan and Gary really get on my nerves. I can see why Ryan wouldn't want Maci to move away, but complaining about child support is dumb--he's your kid, grow up. And everyone I was watching TV with was yelling at the screen when Gary started listening to his friend and being a jerk to Amber about her bday plans.
Omg I was going nuts watching this Tues night. I was like yelling at the tv: GET IN THE CAR AND MOVE TO NASHVILLE. DO IT TONIGHT. MOVE YOUR ASS TO NASHVILLE TONIGHT!!!!! lol I hope she got out in time. I tried to google what happened with the court case (i assume that it would be settled or ongoing bc there is a delay in airing), but no luck.
Re: amber and gary-- i hate them both. gary was a total dick about her going out, but her reaction to it makes me want to punch her. why is the FIRST thing always whiny yelling. i just want to yell at both of them to STFU.
I couldn't believe that Ryan's girlfriend tried to have some say in the whole matter! She acted like she was the one that wanted to see Bentley more...but ummm she's not his mother! Ryan irks me...he's a jerk and should just back off of Maci.
@CorgiTales: Good point--that girl is mean as hell! And that voice! lol I have started saying "damnit Gary!" when people get on my nerves. But I don't know if I can blame her. Who lets their friend convince them to be a total d*ck to their future wife on her birthday?
Glad to know I'm not alone in watching this show, hahaha. I saw the episode also and think Ryan's a big ol' jerk for pulling this on Maci when Maci could easily have not let Ryan see Bentley whatsoever. There is a part of me though that thinks maybe she shouldn't move just yet anyway since she still really depends on her parents to help raise the child.
@realeastcoaster : if Maci didn't save the text message, she could probably also use video footage from the show to show how much of a jerk/idiot Ryan was/is.
And yea, I feel bad for Catelynn - I feel like she puts up with her mom's crap as much as she can because she has no other place to go

Oh, and I can't stand Amber and Gary at all. They're all about drama and make up/break up and do say some pretty horrible things IN FRONT OF THERE DAUGHTER.

Not to hijack, but I want to punch Caitlynn's mom!!!! Ugh, she is such a &^%$$%!!!!! I can't imagine growing up with a "mother" like that.
I agree that Ryan is only fighting for custody now becuase Maci is moving, and also only because his friends (and girlfriend) keep bugging him about it. It was kind of laughable how amazed he was at having to spend $80k over 18 years - seriously, that's it!!???
@leilafl: I can't believe (ok, I can) that Farrah fell for the overseas car sale scam a couple weeks ago!!! I kept thinking "nooo, even she will catch on, someone will tell her its a scam" but she didn't!!
I watched this for the first time on Tuesday and WHOA. Catelynn's Mom is the most disgusting, trashiest, excuse for a human ever. Like, comb your hair, stop shopping in the juniors department, stop calling your daughter a bitch, and ACT LIKE A MOM.

Ryan & Maci - I think part of the reason Ryan is asking for more time is because then he does not have to pay as much child support. His new girlfriend is an idiot for even considering dating him. I kind of cant' wait for him to take Maci to court just so the judge can be like "You douche, you don't even have a job - prove you can act like an adult before you ask for adult responsibilities." I love Maci and how she has owned up to her situation and I really like Kyle a lot too - he seems like he'd be a good dad. She should totally move to Nashville.
Catelynn & Tyler: While Maci is probably the best mom on the show, Catelyn is a close second. So proud of her and Tyler for recognizing the cycle they were in with their families and getting Carly out of there! I am totally rooting for those two to make it in real life, I was SO upset when they were having problems! As for her mom, what a vindictive B****!!! Honestly, my FI even said the other night (he watches it with me!) that Catelynn and Tyler are the adults in that family.
Farrah: She is starting to get a grip on reality, but girlfriend has some issues! Her mom is looney - like off her rocker. I am proud of her though for moving out and standing on her own 2 feet with her baby.
Amber & Gary: Amber is so immature and LAZY! Good grief! How in God's name do they afford those clothes that she and her daughter wear? Although - I suppose they are probably making a pretty penny from MTV. But yeah, I would not be upset if they just left the show.
@leilafl: unfortuantely, the courts dont care about how much of a jerk he is. If she were to bring up the text message and show them it'd probably get swept under the rug. my childs father didnt contact me at ALL for about 5 months of my daughters life and when id contact him he'd be mean. then, all the sudden he wanted to bring me to court for visitation. But there was nothing i could do. I think it's Bull---- the courts dont look at stuff like this. They look at it as.. that was in the past now hes trying to be in her life and a dad and thats all that matters. Crap. that's what it is.
and yes, Farrah is an idiot. On the Tuesday episode, she left sophia sitting on the counter and walked off and came back and was like "oops i left you sitting on the counter by yourself" COMMON SENSE!
@LetsGoPens: I think her mom is on drugs too. It would make sense because Butch was. It seems to me like she either does coke or meth. Just the way she looks is a lot like a meth addict and then the way she acts is very much like a coke head! I feel so bad for Caitlynn!! I want to give her a hug!
Oh well then if you watched 16 and pregnant you would hate him even more. He was a complete douche to Maci and ignored Bentley the entire time. Plus he cannot even stick to simple parenting decisions. I hate that Maci tried to ween Bentley off of his pacifier and Ryan just gave it back to him. I also am not a fan of the new girlfriend who won't even talk to Maci but still wants to put her 2 cents in about how everything should be run. He is the worst parent on the show hands down. You can totally tell he's a mammas boy and his parents just give him money and he's barely worked a day in his life.
OK I haven't watched it yet (have it on the DVR!) and now I can't wait to see what a D-bag he is. I didn't watch 16 and Pregnant either, but I wish I had, b/c now I'm totally addicted to Teen Mom.
OMG I can't believe I'm going to write about Teen Mom...but it's one of my guilty pleasures...
Maci: She is the best mom, and I couldn't believe Ryan was complaining that he was going to spend $80,000 by the time Bently was 18. I guess when I was 18, I thought $5,000 a year was a lot too...but seriously I thought the estimate for having a kid was closer to 1,000,000 especially if you're thinking about college. I'm guessing Ryan's not. I really hope the courts favor Maci, so she doesn't have to cater to him her whole life!
Amber and Gary: Ummm Gary is a blob..he does absolutely nothing...and did you see that crap he pulled on her b-day. What a selfish thing to do! He just plays games, I think Amber should just walk. I mean they couldn't get through proposal #3 without fighting! And the fighting.... 1. shouldn't be done in front of their child 2. they both need anger managment and conflict resolution.
Caitlyn & Tyler: I def. think they made the right decision in giving up their baby. I have been going back and forth whether her mom is bipolar or on drugs... I'm honestly thinking it's both. She's so mean, and goes CRAZY for no reason! I feel so badly for Caitlyn and the little baby. I thought maybe Caitlyn should just leave, but I'm wondering if she's staying for her brother/sister? (not sure what gender, as it's rarely shown)
Farrah: what happened with her b/f??? she mentioned he died and no one has brought it up since. Farrah I think tries to take care of her and Sophia and has done pretty decently (except for the car scam, which unless you've been under a rock you should know about) BUT the thing that bugs me the most about her, is how she cries all the time to get sympathy points. Like she'll be fine, and then she starts talking to her therapist or friend and then starts crying. Then she wipes away the one or two tears, and she's fine again! Ummm a little dramatic I think.
I have been watchin since 16 and Pregnant!! Maci, Tyler and Catelynn are my favs, hands down! I would like to punch Gary and Amber, they both get on my nerves. And if Catelynn's mom was my mom, I would go off on her just like she goes off on poor Catelynn. At least Tyler's mom is normal and does what she can to help Catelynn. Seriously, her mom needs to STFU about her getting rid of Carly, it was the best thing for her!!! But I think her friend (Alexa, I think) from the last episode hit the nail on the head - her mom is jealous cuz she had a baby and is still enjoying her life with and awesome fiance and they both have good heads on their shoulders. Her mom wanted her to have the baby and be trapped and miserable like she is.
I saw the previews for next week's and it looks like Maci moves before Ryan gets a court date. The great thing about their arrangement is that there is notthing in writing, so Maci can go wherever she wants before he gets a court date. Hopefully she does, cuz Ryans SUCKS!! Kyle seems like a much better father figure than Ryan anyway. I cant' wait for next week's episode, I am totally addicted! I have to Tivo it and watch it when hubs isn't home, cuz he cant stand reality tv. Luckily, he gets home from work an hour after me so I can watch all my guilty pleasures then :)
@divergirl: he was killed in a car crash before Sophia was born. There was a whole episode about it a few weeks ago, it was never mentioned on the show until then. Her mom didn't want him to know Farrah was pregnant, so she kept it a secret and stopped talking to him to keep the peace at home. Then, he was killed in a car accident so he never even knew. That's one of the biggest reasons she has so much resentment and anger towards her mother
I totally think Ryan is a douche, BUT I dont think Maci should just up and leave for a guy she has been dating for such a short pd of time! Even if they have known each other for a while. He seems like a nice guy, but trying to convert a college guy into a dad isnt the best plan for her. I think she needs to give it a little more thought. I think this is the most immature decision she is making since Bentley was born
With that being said, Maci is definitely my favorite mom. I CANT STAND Gary and Amber. OMG they are the most infuriating people ever! Farrah is doing better, but she can still be a major dumb ass. How about when she left the baby on her bed and walked into the bathroom to talk to her "personal banker" and Sophia fell off! and then she left her on the sink! CAitlin and Tyler seem so much older then they are! Catilin's mom has a lot of screws loose and its just uncomfortable to watch her. Psycho!
Just watched last nights ep and OMG I cant STAND GARY!!! He is so gross, I wanted to punch him and his friend for pulling that crap on Amber on her bday! Usually, Im Anti-Amber but last night she really didnt do anything wrong. Im hoping she only took Gary back (for what, the 4th time?) just so she could go out lol.
Ryan just plain SUCKS. His family is being so selfish and I think he only wants more time with Bentley b/c it means less $$ from his pocket, so his g/f (who is a nosey biotch) and fam can have more time with him and probably to spite Maci so she cant move to Nashville with her new b/f. Poor Maci, she is def my favorite and doesnt deserve this crap!
Caitlyn and Tyler are sooo adorable. Their families suck but I adore them! Her mom is on SOMETHING. Last night she just went off..could not believe the things she was saying to Caitlyn!! She was def the more mature one and at least kept her cool and apologized for basically doing nothing wrong. I was so glad Caitlyn and Ty won prom king and queen :) I wish they would move out on their own and start wedding planning haha, cant wait for the day they have another child for their own, theyll be GREAT parents!
Farrah has soo many issues. I used to not like her at all but she has grown up alot and the fact that Sophia has no father probably really affects her. I really hope her and her mom can reconcile and be happy as a family for little Sophia!

A. He'll pay less and
B. His ugly GF wants him too.

Gary and Amber also drive me crazy. Gary is such a disgusting slob. He totally ruined Amber's brithday. All they ever do is fight and swear (in front of their daughter no less!) I really really hope they don't stay together (although next week's episode looks like she is trying on a wedding dress :/)
@JessicaL: man that sucks, I'm sorry you had to go through such an experience with your child's dad. I mean I would understand if he was actually making an effort to be involved in your kid's life but if he's just doing it to spite you, thats mean. If you don't mind me asking, is he still trying to get visitation?
Glad to hear I'm not the only woman totally addicted to this show! Sometimes I feel silly but I can't stop watching it.
Amber and Gary are totally awful and need to just go their separate ways. Although I think Gary is by far the worst of the two - no job or attempts to get one, treats Amber like crap (taking a break to go on a date with another girl), belittling her desire to get a HS diploma, etc - Amber is still at fault for many of their issues too. I feel really bad for their little girl.
Farrah is growing on me. She used to drive me nuts but I think she is really trying to step up and provide for herself and her daugher. Her mom is a total lunatic and although Farrah doesn't respect her at all, I can't really say that I blame her. She still has a lot of immaturity to work though (falling for the car scam, leaving her daughter places she shouldn't, etc) but I do think she is making a lot of progress.
I don't really understand all the support from viewers of Caitlyn and Tyler. I do think they made a great decision giving their daughter up for adoption as their home environments are no place to try to raise a child. And Caitlyn's mom is terrible towards her! But although they seem to be more "adult" than the rest of their families, they are still really immature. I couldn't believe how crazy Tyler got when Caitlyn told one white lie to try to spare his feelings and how he didn't even seem to want to accept her apology for it. And although I think it was the best choice for their child to put her up for adoption, they are not parents now. Just because you had a baby doesn't make you a parent - raising them does. I still enjoy following their story but I hate it when they refer to themselves as parents.
I've already expressed my hatred of Ryan in my OP but I LOVE Maci. I think she is doing a wonderful job raising Bentley while still going to school and holding down a job. That would not be an easy task and she handles it like a pro. Plus she somehow puts up with all of Ryan's crap. And I honestly don't see the issue with her moving to Nashville to be closer to Kyle. She isn't planning on moving in with him or anything. Moving out from under her parent's roof will just make her more independent and show her that she really can do this on her own!

And...I don't think it would be fair to Bentley for her to either not allow Ryan to see him or move away from him. Honestly, YES Ryan is a complete DBag, but he's still Bentley's dad and Bentley deserves to spend time with his dad. It's not fair to punish Bentley for his dad's douchebaggery.
As far as Farrah is concerned, I think she and her mom argue so much because they are SO alike. They're like the same person!

Tyler and Caitlyn make me really sad. As an adopted kid myself, I'd be really sad to know my parents gave me up and ended up staying together. I'd wish they'd kept me.
I think I'm going to have to admit my addiction for this show after you all started talking and venting. LOL!
I haven't watched the episode yet, but I really do think Maci is THE BEST MOM on the show. I can't belive how Ryan acts at all. I'm rooting for Maci and her new guy. I think he's great so far.
Gary and Amber have a verbally/mentall abusive relationship with each other and I can already tell they aren't going to make it long if they ever do get married. She's controlling and whiney and he acts like he doesn't give a crap about anything. It makes me mad to watch these too. I just want to skip over parts with them.
Tyler and Caitlin are definitely the grown ups while their parents (well at least hers) act like their still in high school. While I know they are hurting because they want to have Carly, I think they did the best thing they could, and i'm glad they get to see pictures of their daughter. I have known some women who have been pressured into closed adoption and they regret ever doing it because they don't know how their kid is doing, what they look like, etc.
Farrah...I'm glad she's learning real life the hard way. I was screaming at the tv when she was sending 3k through money wire. I can't believe no one (not even the camera man/producer) told her she may want to wait until the check actually went through ok before sending money to them. Her Dodge was not worth 5K. And then when Sophie fell off the bed because she left her alone...really? She couldn't take the 2 seconds to put her in her crib?! She really needs parenting/common sense classes if shes ever going to make it in this world.

I'm glad someone said it. I don't really get all this "court shouldn't allow him to see his son more because he sucks!!!" comments. Visitation isn't about the mom or the dad, it's about the child. Even if (and I'm sure this is the case) Ryan's intentions are less than pure, his son shouldn't be penalized for it. I dabble a bit in family law and this attitude really, really upsets me. Parents need to get over themselves and think about their kids. Using your child to "punish" your partner is disgusting, from both sides.
I also agree with the statement about referring to Caitlyn and Tyler as "parents." They're not parents. I agree with the decision they made and feel horrible for them given their individual family situations (how they turned out so well despite where they came from is beyond me), however I still cringe a little every time they refer to themselves as "parents."
@leilafl: He HAS visitation. I got engaged when Ava was 7 months old and i think that was his main motive to file for visitation 2 months later. He was just mad I am getting married and knows my daughter will call FI dad(which she does now) so his parents made him go to a lawyer. She started going to his house every other weekend when she was 11 months. ACTUALLY, he lives with his girlfriend and Ava is not allowed at his house because of that, so she stays at her grandparents and he probably isnt even over there most of the time. It breaks my heart when he picks her up because she NEVER wants to go with him. I've heard his parents say a few times how they wish they could get her more so I just have this gut feeling that when i move he's going to try and get her for a full week every other week. EEK. but hes a bartender so i dont think the courts will go for that. how would he take care of her?
kate169: I dont think maci is trying to keep Bentley from Ryan. When they go to court they'll give him visitation rights for every other weekend and him and maci will meet 1/2 way to hand him off. I'm a pro at this stuff haha it's pretty standard.
