Teeny weeny itsy bitsy venting session: New Reception Site?

This week has been one of my rougher weeks, all things wedding related. I had just begun to relax and think it was smooth sailing from here on out. On my way to church Sunday, I started thinking/panicking about space at our reception sight. Don't get me wrong, I think we'll be okay, but things MAY be awfully cramp. Which leads me to being thrown through a loop- I'd like to take this moment to officially take issue with some "weddetiquette."

I think it's ludicrous that wedding invitations are sent out merely 6-8 weeks before the event (!!!) How is an OCD planner like me supposed to figure out seating, space, and layout of a room that I won't know HOW full will be for three more months?? I was ranting to my mom the other day, saying you really don't know exactly what you're spending until the final month, weeks and even days before the wedding!

Long story short, I have started looking for an alternate reception site this week.......It is really nice to know that I can still use our reception venue if I need it, but look at other possibilities in the mean time. We shall see how this goes.....

Now in other wedding news: Yesterday, we bought our toasting flutes @Macy's while waiting to see "The Book of Eli" (which I highly recommend, btw)!

We hit the store at a good time, where sales and coupons abounded! I like these flutes because they are classic, simple and elegant. While inscripted glasses are nice because they memorialize the date of the wedding, I don't think we are going to go that route. That way, if we ever want to get a full set of these flutes, we will only need to buy six more!
