Don’t do Zoom. Yes it’s effective, but a) it’s expensive b) very painful c)once it wears off you need to repeat.

I would recommend that you get custom whitening trays made at your local dentist and then have treatments done as needed. It’s cheaper and does a great job. Just save your trays and you are good should you decide to retreat or maintain.

Also, if you have teeth sensitivity look into a flouride treatment before you whiten. It should help lessen that.

Crest White Strips… I used the most expensive ones, I think called professional effects from Walgreens.  My teeth weren’t too bad before and certainly weren’t simon cowell veneer white afterwards but with the strips and a trip to the hygenist they were definitey more zing!

Zoom Whitening was one of the most painful things I’ve ever done in my life. It was terrible. I was in so much pain for days AND I got a flouride treatment beforehand, and there was no indiciation it was going to be so bad for me. The trays don’t bother me though, and I think I get pretty decent results from them. Just as good as the Zoom, really.

I’ve had Zoom whitening done professionally and it was a little painful. What I do is use trays from the dentist’s office and Zoom Nitewhite. I get compliments on my white teeth all the time.

I bleach ever couple of years and have used both the custom trays and the Crest white strips.  Honestly the only difference I could tell between the trays and the strips is that the trays are easier to keep in place when you have to wear them.  I have a super low threshold for pain so Zoom is out for me.

I use baking soda and peroxide (mixed together to make a paste). It works great! I also read somewhere to cut a strawberry in half and rub on your teeth.. I tried it once and it seemed to work (maybe just in my head) but I assume isn’t amazing for your teeth because of the acidity and sugar 🙂

@HisWifey:  I don’t think that its just in your head. I’ve eaten strawberries and rubbed them on my teeth before and I thought that it made them whiter as well.

Crest 3D white has come out with a toothpaste called Glamorous! After I brushed with it once I saw a change. Brush 3 times a day with it. I also got Plus White 5 Minute whitening gel which works miracles. I prefer using it with a mouth tray. I’m a smoker and I’m big with coffee and wine, 3 worse things for teeth! These two things together are giving me my smile back. Good luck

these are the strongest ones, but you can only buy them online.

for reference, here’s a pic of FI and I (a crappy phone one, but it works!)- his teeth are actually super white in person, I swear. He has way better oral hygiene than me. Mine are just super bright from those strips! they’re amazing and totally worth every penny.

Also, I used to chain smoke and I drink black coffee every day.

I did Zoom a year ago and was so terrified because I heard about the pain. I have EXTREMELY sensitive teeth and I only had one small zinger. It wasn’t bad at all.

I don’t feel like the whitening lasted very long..I did do the trays after and, meh. I think it has to do more with how your teeth are though. My teeth are thin and I can’t ever get them noticeably white, even though they’re not yellow or bad looking.

Zoom does look good for a few weeks though!
