My teeth are too sensitive to do inoffice teeth whitening so I’m looking for recommendations of whitening gels. I already have the fitted teeth trays.I have 2 months to get something close to white.
Anyone had a good/quick experience with gels store brand or professional? What did you use?

I’m a dental assistant, so maybe I can help just a smidge. I would immediately get some sensodyne and use it everyday (they do finally have a whitening version). As far as gels, they really do all work equally well, it’s just personal preference on useage. I prefer strips that disolve on their own so I don’t have to worry about them. For you already having custom trays any of the OTC gels will work better for you already. I really have been enjoying the Vivid White line from Crest.

@WhiteWedding: Thank you! I had forgotten about sensodyne I remember it really helping my teeth.I’ll check out the Crest gel. Do you think it’s the same or better as what the dentist would give me?

I started using straight baking soda on my teeth after brushing with regular toothpaste.
In three days I was getting compliments like crazy.
I checked with my dentist (he leans easily toward natural products and what not) ad he said I was good to go.

I have always used the crest white strips, have you tried those? I love them!

@axeyourmakeupkit: How would you brush with it?

Nothing is going to be as good as what your dentist can give you, because they have stronger percentages of peroxide. You can also swish at night with hydrogen peroxide after you brush. It’s tasteless and really helps too.

I used the Nitewhite Kit with 10% gel (from a dentist). the 10% means less peroxide for sensitive teeth.
I have to say I wish I went stronger. I had very little pain from it, and it was so weak I had to do 4 hours a day for an entire month! (but that might be beacuse my teeth were not very yellow to begin with, so maybe the results just didn’t seem so dramatic to me.) if I had used a stronger kit, it should have worked way faster.
still, I thought nitewhite was way better than crest white strips for two reasons: 1. I could sleep with the custom fit trays in so that was more convenient. and 2. white strips made my teeth hurt more while not being a very effective whitener.
