@linnylou_88:  I am in the middle of my dress regret journey.  Buying another dress for me is not an option.  I think I will be just altering the stuff I don’t like about my dress.  I really hate that I have such easy access to other dresses.  For me, I need to just quit looking!!  Which is easier said than done!

I do still love the dress I picked (sometimes??).  And in the end this is the dress I will wear.  I just need to find a good seamstess to do the work to change it.

I think both of the dresses in the pictures are beautiful on you.  I think either way, you will be a stunning bride!!

I had a dress from David’s Bridal that I originally loved, but I think the excitement of picking a dress clouded my judgement.

I joined the bee, saw the Alfred Angelo Disney dresses and fell in love with Cinderella 205. I lost sleep over it and realized I had to try it on. My mom had paid for my original dress but agreed I should try the Cinderella on.

The moment I saw the dress my eyes teared up and when I put it on I just knew that it was my dress.  My mom generously bought the new dress (we eventually sold the 1st one a few months ago). No regrets after that!

Coincidentally, that first picture is me! I had major dress regret.

I wasn’t happy with the style for the same reasons you listed – it just didn’t feel like me. The fit was perfect which was why I chose the dress, but the style didn’t feel right. I should have listened to my gut because 6 months after my wedding, my dress is still the one thing I regret. My whole wedding day look was off because of the dress.

Get your dream dress! Even seeing that picture of me now makes me full of regret. If I had known then what I know now, I would have sucked it up and forked over the money to get a new dress that felt right.

@linnylou_88:  No, I don’t mind at all!That dress wasn’t what I had envisioned either. It’s a very flattering fit so it was hard to turn away from that at the time. But I also wanted something soft and romantic (lace), and that dress isn’t either of those things. I don’t dwell on it or anything, but just wanted to give my two cents. If you aren’t 100% happy then keep looking. 🙂

@MrsBot:

@linnylou_88:

Ladies that is my dress too! I have never been to a dress shop, I bought it online. I showed it to a bridesmaid and she said it wasn’t me but when I thought about it there isn’t a certain style that captures ‘me’ exactly. I am more bohemian but don’t be surprised if I’m in a sequined dress all dolled up. I feel some times we get so caught up in the look and theme of the wedding. I had to remind myself of what I wanted when I started the wedding planning process. I want to look good for FI, the end, lol! As a new mom who may or may not be still breast feeding by the time I get married I needed a dress that fit the budget (I found it online brand new for $250 so all I need are alterations), a dress that fits all body types (I was a double zero per pregnancy, now a 4/6) and all boob sizes (lawd, I went from nothing to something to a lil more than nothing so who knows where I will end up!) Anyways, if you have the means, do something about it but if not, know that it’s still a gorgeous dress! I’ve never seen a bride in that dress look horrible. Some brides wear a fitted lace bolero and that changes the look, a veil, a sash etc. ifcoulda money to burn I would have a different dress but I wholeheartedly believe this dress is a solid, flattering choice and you will look beautiful on your day. Just accessorize to fit the look you want!

I had dress regret because I realized after I bought it that has been one of the most popular dresses on the bee and elsewhere.  But after posting it and getting many encouraging comments I reminded myself of why I love my dress and reasons I chose it, as well as the fact that no one at my wedding will be familiar with it, its only on wedding websites that its popular.  🙂

I had some dress regret, just because there are SO many pretty dresses in the world. Then my BFF said my dress made me look heavier than I am (it was a mistake on her part–she thought she was agreeing with something I said). I was so crushed I made a thread about it, actually!

I finally went back to DB (where my original dress was from) and tried on more dresses, since I’ve heard they’ll let you exchange if you beg and plead. The consultant encouraged me to try my original dress back on and–I loved it. It was my favorite of all of the dresses.

So no more dress regret for me! I can’t wait to get my dress altered to perfection and wear it on my wedding day!

I’m trying not to think about my dress for now. My decision was based on budget. I did not want to spend over 400$ for a dress (which is quite a challenge), and I wanted lace. I never saw myself wearing a wedding dress, but when I started thinking about my wedding, it was lace I wanted. Lace has been part of my signature look for years. The dress I’ve bought is pre-owned and beautiful. It’s Anjolique 1012 and I’ve got it for 200$ instead of 1200+. The dress is beautiful, I do feel good in it, but my decision was clearly influenced by the ”you’ll never get such an amazing deal again” thought, rather than the ”OMG it’s the one” feeling.

I do not purposedly look at dress anymore, but I can’t help but feel sad in my heart looking at this dress, and thinking it’s so beautiful … but it’s not me ! And it’s not what I thought I’d be wearing.

@linnylou_88:  Thank you. I know the dress is gorgeous, the problem is obviously not the dress, but me. I feel good wearing it, but it’s not what I thought I’d wear. I was going for a vintage feel. I was hoping for lace. I had many inspiration dresses in my bookmarks (from dhgate, aliexpress, etc.) and they were all lace, but the fact people said the quality was not very good for lace dresses (replicas) made me doubt and I didn’t want to spend that money to have a very bad result either. The problem is I’m having a really hard time moving on from lace.

I have to say though,I have looked at other dresses and I have not found any that I like as much.I tried it n again and I put a black belt and it felt different, I liked it. Our wedding will probably be postponed another year, so I guess I’ll have plenty of time to figure this out.
