Go to the national parks website and shop that way!

Seriously. Growing up that is how my family traveled. We picked a park that peaked our interest, and then built a trip around it stopping in whatever major city was nearest, and finding things to do in the area.

LOVED the vacations my family went on growing up. I got to see some stunning places. I recommend the Grand Tetons for sure, and Yellowstone.

Yellowstone is very low-lux, however. There are no power lines at all in the park, if I recall correctly.

We went to Palm Springs, California. We hiked in Joshua Tree National Park (which was ah-mazing), went horseback riding around the mountains, and went on a hot-air balloon ride! It was SUCH a wonderful time. We chose it because there was a film festival going on that week, but we ended up doing more nature/scenery stuff than film festival stuff because it was just such a gorgeous place.
