I have the premade binder from JoAnnes Fabrics. It already has individual tabs and preprinted checklists for each part of the wedding. What I like about it, is the fact that its in a 3 ring binder, so I have been adding (and adding…and adding…) my own checklists and ideas under each tab. This way, I have the etiquette version along with my own tweaked version 🙂

I got a burgundy 3 inch binder from walmart and used some dividers that I had gotten from a free organizer from jcpenney and added some extra stuff to it like pocket folders to hold things like contracts, honeymoon info and forms I needed for my name change. I also put a business card holder in front for my vendors and other people I had contacted. I also kept a 3hole punch in it that came with the jcpenney binder for when I added in magazine pages or things I had printed from the web. It was definitely a big help when it came to keeping things organized.

I like weddingwire.com! I also have a pink binder I got from xmas tree shop, with seperators, etc.  I have a scanner at work so any material that comes in the mail I scan it and put on a jump drive (my binder got to be overflowing!!).  I have various folders on my jump drive….flowers, djs, photographers, etc to keep everything organized on the jump drive.  The jump drive is also great for when your surfing the web and find pictures of things you like cause then you can right click and save the image on your USB jump drive!

I bought some wedding planning computer program for like…$30 at Barnes & Noble….total waste of money. lol

I’m sure it would be GREAT for other people but, I found that just making a comprehensive Microsoft Excel spreadsheet(s) and keeping all of my contracts and materials in a folder by my computer worked just as well.

I got the software iDo and I really like it.  I still have a folder with little dividers to keep inspiration pics.

I have a zippered pouch with fabric and ribbon swatches, a couple pages now of business card holders (now filled with cards), folders in each section (to put contracts, samples of paper products, etc.), and lots of lists.  The random things floating in my wedding bag (that did not find a home in my binder) are things like sample CDs and DVDs (you might want to add sleeves for these), my jump drive full of images (TennisSML5 is right, that is so much easier for me than keeping track of a bunch of print outs – I just bring my laptop with me when I meet with vendors), and other random inspiration pieces that are three dimensional.  The pages that I use the most are the budget checklist (write in pencil until you sign the contract) and the guest list (including spaces for whether the person or family was invited to various parties and whether they brought a gift – for thank you notes, not just keeping a tally).

I bought a Russell+Hazel binder in lime green (the interior is dry-erase!!): http://russellandhazel.stores.yahoo.net/si3ribi.html

And then printed out their wedding templates from their wedding planner (which is gorgeous but $75!) Templates here:

But really, you could do it for almost free if you had a binder lying around the house (and you could even decorate the outer sleeve with images that inspire you!)
