I think it’s very strange but hey, it’s her wedding!

It would definitely be different and unexpected!

Um, yeah, that’s pretty ridiculous. The guests will be confused.

It’s a little unusual, but the “unique” factor may be part of the appeal for her.

I am curious though, what exactly makes something a “winter” wedding specifically? Will she be wearing a fur stole or something? Cranking the AC until everyone is cold?

I think I saw this on a wedding show once.  I think it could be nice if executed well.  Christina Aguilera’s wedding theme was “Fire and Ice” and the ceremony was warm summer hues, flowers etc…the reception was whites and icy blues.  I loved the concept!

It depends on how she does it. Blues and silvers would be pretty, snowflakes everywhere would be odd to me.

I don’t think there’s anything ridiculous about it.  I didn’t pay attention to seasons when choosing my colors or flowers or overall look.  I just picked what I liked.  Mine is probably leaning towards winter in August.

I know a girl doing snowflakes in July.  I think it’s a little odd myself.

I think it’s totally fine, not ridiculous at all. Not sure why you’re so concerned about someone else’s wedding, but to each her own.

@FutureMrsChaney: I’m sorry, but the title of the thread made me think you were asking on your own. I doubt she’d want you to make a thread saying you think it’s ridiculous…

I think it will be different, and totally not to my tastes, but if she’s in love with it, then go for it!  It could definitely be done really pretty! Just tell her to make sure she thinks long and hard about it because she wouldn’t want to look back on her wedding 10 years from now and kick herself for doing it.
