So I was due to get AF this AM (pretty regular) and I tested with my FMU and got a BFN- no biggie, it's what I was expecting.  However, today I have CRAZY breast tenderness (not a normal AF symptom) and a total lack of my normal AF tell-tale signs.

Am I crazy to get my hopes up even though I got a BFN this morning?  For bee's that got your BFP after you expected AF, how many days past AF did you actually get your positive test result?

@MRSLMA:  I'm not sure I would wait a few days and test again if AF hasn't shown. I tested the day AF was supposed to arrive and got my BFP. I tested the day before that and got a BFN.

When I'm late, I test like 92 times and I'm not even kidding. You're not crazy to get your hopes up, but know in the back of your mind that it may be a BFN for a few days =) That's how I deal with it, anyway.

Ugghhhh- my head is telling me to just wait for a couple days because my period might just be late because of a cold earlier this month, but I want this SO badly to be our month.  Chances that I buy more tests on the way home... 100% :)

@MRSLMA:  haha. I do the dollar tree tests (used to work there) ladies would tell me ALL THE TIME that they work better than the expensive ones, and it saves you bunches! In fact, AF is expected this Friday, will be buying some tests this afternoon! lol. Best of luck to you!!! And try not to stress out about it, because if you stress AF may not come at all sending you crazy mixed signals. Keeping you in my prayers.

I would be doing the same thing! I'm on CD17 and I wanna test tomorrow! But a cold in the first half of your cycle can lead to a late AF. Good luck!

How many DPO are you? I know many people who tested a few days later and got positives!

You are totally not out yet. You may hav ovulated later than you think or had a later implantation. Wait a couple days. If you can wait two or three days and then test you will feel better than misting money only to see AF show up.

@jaguar:  I am 14DPO, I think:) 12DPO at the minimum. I usually O between CD14 and CD16 on a 28 day cycle. Ughhhh I just want to know one way or the other!

I'm going test once more tomorrow AM because I'm seeing my parents tomorrow night and would really love to be able to give them great news- after that, I'll wait a couple days I think. We're going up north to go snowboarding this weekend so I'll have a nice distraction and I'll test  again when we get home Sunday if there is still no sign on AF.

    Fingers crossed!:)

@eloping:  If you took cold medicine, that could have delayed your O and thus your period. No way to know for sure unless you were tracking your temp and/or taking OPKs. Good luck! :)

Ok so I got a CRAZY faint second line this morning with FMU (even DH could see it so I know I'm not just imagining it)! How long do I need to wait before takin. A digital? Can I hold it for 4 hours and try again or do I HONESTLY need to wait until my FMU tomorrow?!

Not getting excited, not getting excited, not getting excited....

@MRSLMA:  You should wait till tomorrow with your FMU. I got my BFP at 7 o clock at night then tried my digital at midnight I couldn't sleep so I cracked and took it. It said not pregnant! I was so confused. I then took it again at 7am and it was pregnant that time.

You should test in the morning either way, but nothing prevents you from doing a digital now. Just know it may be a false negative. And if your pee is strong enough, it'll be great to tell your parents now.

My BFP was after I got negatives the previous 2 days. And it was very faint (had to squint and tilt it to try to see if there actually was a line. When I got my very very faint line, I used a digital that afternoon and it showed positive. You can see my tests here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/ladies-please-look-at-this-test-for-me

Just remember, it's not over until AF shows. No AF = still a chance!

Are you using pink or blue dye tests?

You need urine that is really concentrated. So drinking a lot and holding it won't cut it. Think about at night you sleep so you aren't drinking for 8 hours or so. That is what makes FMU best. But if you don't drink and hold it you should be able to test later in the day (not that I recommend completely dehydrating yourself, I just know how hard it is to wait..)

I am pretty sure a line is a line so it sounds like you ARE pregnant :)

BTW, my dr. advised against skiing/snowboarding while pregnant. Not sure if it matters this early but you might want to check.

    congrats!

@Janna19:  Oh my gosh I never even thought about that! Thank you so much for bringing it up! I guess that I'll spend the weekend sipping decaf tea bundled up in the lodge:) I'm hoping to post good news with my FMU tomorrow AM!

As always, bees, thanks for the advice, support, and positive thoughts!!

Well, my schedule off BC was crazy wonky. I didn't get a period until 7 weeks after I went off, which means I spent three weeks convinced I was pregnant (over analyzing all the signs, taking test after test, getting frustrated at all the negatives. After I finally got my period I decided I wasn't taking any more tests until I had irrefutable evidence I was pregnant. I made it until about 5 weeks and then I caved and tested-negative. 2 weeks later my husband insisted I take another once because I was sick that whole week.

So, 7 weeks after my last period I tested and it was positive. I assumed that I had ovulated around week 5 (my cycles are long w/o BC) but when I went in for a dating U/S I was right on time based on LMP. So I was three weeks pregnant when I tested and it was still negative.

I say hold it and test again tonight (though that's mostly because I want to know what your test says TODAY!) :) I think you could definitely get a positive (but if not, try again in the morning). Fingers crossed for you!!!

I got a super super light positive the night before my BFP - it was so light that I didn't see it in the bathroom lighting! The next AM, I was able to get a slightly darker line on a wondofo and a "pregnant" on the digital. I wouldn't be able to wait - but good for you if you can! :)

I think you can test again this evening!   Buy a digital, wait until you need to urinate again normally - not by drinking a gallon of water in a short time as that will only dilute your urine - and see what it says.    If AF was due today, you can test at any time during the day and probably get an accurate result.  It's only before your period is due that you really need to test with FMU.

And FWIW, when I got my BFP, I too got a super faint line (didn't even really think it was there!) but I went to the store, got a digital and took that - again normally, not by drinking boatloads of water - and the positive result showed up a few minutes later.

GO GET A DIGITAL AND TEST NOW!  :-)

Negative test this morning- feeling disappointed, confused, and foolish for letting myself get excited. Ughhhh, not only am I not pregnant, but someone wonky is going on with my period too

    Bad. Morning.

@MRSLMA:  Was it the exact same kind of test? If it was a different brand, it could be less sensitive, which is why you ended up with a negative this morning...? I'm trying to look on the bright side for you! Hope your period stays away and you get a definite answer soon!

@twodoghouse:  I used a different brand, but it was a Clear Blue Easy digital-do think they're pretty accurate. Still no AF, or AF symptoms though so I guess it's a waiting game to see what my body is doing. Thanks again for all the support ladies!

@MRSLMA:  Your line yesterday was really light, so maybe it's still too early for a digital? I recommend any type of pink dye test. The gold standard is the First Response Early Result.

This recently happend to a friend of mine! it was her 3rd month off bcp and she even went to the doc to get a blood test, after being 7 days late on her period. the blood test came back negative but the doctors did say she could still be pregnant and it just not show up yet.

she ended up getting her period after she was about 10 or 11 days late, though.

don't give up hope  until af shows!

Positive pink dye test today- much darker lines than last time, no need to squint or hold it in acertain way:):):) Taking another digital in the AM to be sure, but I'm feeling pretty confident that it's a real BFP:)
