    OK. So...I just recently started P90x again and I just can't get my eating habits back on track!

    I'm 5'1 and 134 pounds. I'm just a little overweight but super close to being what is considered "normal" I really want to get down to 120 pounds or even 125 would be awesome! I have done WW but can't seem to stick with it. Should I be eating 3 meals a day with snacks or 6 small meals a day. I don't know what to do! I think I just need help on what to eat I don't really know...

    Any advice is appreciated!

    @stbMohror: in my experience, 6 small meals a day is best. This kick-starts your metabolism and shrinks your stomach. I had a hard time with it at first, because if I got hungry when I was supposed to have one of my 6 small meals, I would eat something bad if I didn't have a healthy option around. So what I did was, I would pack my 'meals' for the day in a lunch bag, and bring it to work. It really helps!

    I'm a big advocate of 5 or 6 small meals a day, but I have not done P90X so I'm not sure if that goes with their plan. Really, the point of eating smaller meals more often is that you still get the same amount of food and calories, but you're boosting your metabolism the entire day through. Plus, you feel more full, more often, so you're not snacking or making poorer food choices.

    Good luck on your weight loss goals, you're coming at it from the right approach!

    @napabridekelsey

    Thank you! I used to eat 6 small meals a day and switched to bigger meals but now it just seems like I eat and eat and EAT a ton at a time when I really don't need it. I think going back to 6 meals will keep me from over eating at my three meals :)

    @NDBee

    I don't stick with the P90x food plan at all, I think of it as well at least I'm exercising! I have to do my own food plan because I hate sticking to specifics they put in a book. I will definitely go back to 6 small meals, Thank you :)

    When i try and pack just fruits and veggies as snacks I never seem to be satisfied, I always feel like I need something solid like bread, what foods can I have to satisfy that feeling?

    @stbMohror: I personally have a very quick metabolism, so maybe this isn't the case for all, but I don't really alter my meals to avoid bread/carbs/whatever. Instead, I spread out what I would have had in 3 big meals into 5 or 6 smaller ones.

    So instead of oatmeal, orange juice, some fruit, and toast for breakfast, I will have the OJ and oatmeal, and then a few hours later have some fruit and toast. Lunch I'll have soup and a veggie and a meat, and then a couple hours later, a salad. Spacing things out helps to keep me from having one huge breakfast, and then craving something at 10am and grabbing a doughnut or vending machine 'goodie'.

    Also, keeping easy, healthy snacks around is a LIFE SAVER. Clear out the 'bad junk' and have easy snacks, like pre-cutting your celery and bagging it up so you can grab some with raisins or some peanut butter. Nuts are also great in helping to feel satisfied, as are eggs, or anything with protein. I think half the battle is avoiding the mindless/convenience eating.
