So I went into Zales today just to see how a ruby would look against my complexion. I didn’t want to buy something so sentimental and it end up looking like crap so I went in today and the lady took me right to the colored gemstones. I tried on a ruby ring with a halo just for color comparison and I really like how it looks! Then as I was walking over on the other side of this awkward pillar, I saw a white topaz ring. I tried it on just because it was so pretty and it ACTUALLY ended up looking nice on me (so I thought)! I’m still totally onboard with the ruby, but I just wanted to show you ladies how both looked so you can tell me what you think. Again, I only tried it on to see how the color looks against my skin, not necessarily the style. Thanks

It depends what look your going for. If you want a traditional look, go for the topaz. If you want to stand out and have something different, go for the ruby. I like both rings on you. I am a traditional ring kind of girl and would go for the topaz, I dont have the balls to do the ruby.

Thank you for your replies, ladies! Looks like my dear-old-ruby is “winning” (?). LOL. I’m going to design my own ring since I am not entirely a huge fan of these styles, but I am no longer feeling really insecure about my red beauty. So glad I walked in there just to see. And who knows?…I might just end up with two rings! 😉
