hey i recently got engaged to the love of my life and im so happy and excited to start my life with him :-) check out my engagement ring and tell me what you really think Please cause i didnt get good compliments on it and im hurt :-( it means alot to me , they dont like it cause they say the diamond is "too big" and it should have been WHITE but i really wanted it black cause my finace is black so i wanted my ring to be special but no body likes it :-(

I think it's pretty! And boo to those who decided to share their unneeded two cents. If it's special to you and your fiance- that is what is important and what truly counts!
I think it is beautiful and original! It does not matter what other people think. It matters what you think and if you love it, that is all that really matters and from what you said, you DO! Congrats!
Usually when people say mean things it is out of jealousy (they probably don't have a beautiful ring like that, or a great fiance like you seem to have) so shame on them!
I think it's beautiful. My e-ring is a sapphire, so it's not "traditional" either and I'm completely LOVE it.

Then I thought some odd mixture of black and white diamonds would be cutesy, they could match BF and I.

It is very original and as long as you like it that's all that matters! Honestly I get compliments on how big my diamond is but not on the setting as it's a tiffany knock off 6 prong. Nothing special.

it's very pretty. i have an aquamarine and i have heard comments that it isn't a true engagement ring because it's not a diamond so trust me, pay them no attention, if you love it that's all that matters.

People are stupid. There's no need for an engagement ring to be a white (colorless?) diamond. Yours is so much more original. I've never seen one like it, and it sounds like you got what you really wanted. In the end that should be all that matters. ...and it's gorgeous :-)

I think it's absolutely beautiful! I'm sorry you've gotten such negative comments on it. :( It's completely undeserved. It's unique, which I like, but it also has a classy, classic vintage feel to it. I can't believe you would get negative comments on it! I can imagine people being surprised that the center stone is a black diamond instead of white, but I can't imagine people being rude about it! The important thing is that it means a lot to you. People's reactions will die down, and you'll be left with a meaningful ring that you love. :)

I too have a colored diamond, and got many less than enthusiastic responses. One lady even said, "Don't worry, someday he'll be able to afford a pretty diamond!". People just aren't used to thinking outside the box. This woman had no concept that my diamond is exactly what I wanted.

It is unbelievable that people have been so rude. Your ring is amazing! I like that it doesn't look like everyone else's or a run-of-the-mill ring. I am glad you went with your heart on that one!

I think your ring is gorgeous! I love the uniqueness of it. I'm sorry that people have been less than complimentary on it, they probably are the same people who would gasp at all of us brides who are wearing colored shoes!
I never got any love for my ring either. Don't let everyone put a damper on it! I know it's hard and it hurts when people aren't marveling over it like they would if it were more "traditional." But traditional isn't really you, so don't worry! I think your ring is gorgeous! I actually gasped when the page loaded, I think it is unbelievably beautiful!

If you like it then that is all that matters. It looks very artistic I think. I like it as a ring but personally I wouldn't want it as my engagement ring. Everyone has their own style though
I love it! Especially the fact that it's you I love th black as an alt center stone.
I love it! Honestly, I'm sometimes sad that my e-ring is so traditional (single princess cut solitaire on a white gold band) and it doesn't necessarily hold up to comparison, but I love it because he and I picked it out together, and it was what he could afford at this point in our lives. It's my engagement ring, that makes it perfect!
