In terms of international brands, I quite like Dermalogica. I’m not sure how many brands have transatlantic presence! PETA have extensive lists on their website of which companies do and don’t use animal testing. Unfortunately Avon and Estée Lauder are now on the bad list, they quietly started testing to appease the Chinese govt, or something. It’s something I feel strongly about, and it’s such a pain when you have to plan where you buy shampoo!

Basically if it’s from Procter & Gamble, Unilever, L’Oreal, Reckett Benckiser, it’s definitely out. Some people rule out the Body Shop because it’s now owned by L’Oreal, but apparently they still have full independence with production etc.

I LOVE Peter Thomas Roth products, which are fragrance free and not tested on animals. They are expensive but so worth it. The mega rich intensive anti-aging cellular creme is the best moisturizer I’ve used. I’m also a huge fan of the max sheer all day defense sunscreen (SPF 30).

Hard candy is one of my favorite brands. I love their eyeshadows and lip glosses. Some of their other products aren’t so great.

I love Kiss My Face. I use their shampoo and conditioner, as well as a couple other products. I first picked up their products because they have some of the few hair care products that work decently without containing artificial fragrance, which irritates my skin and is in a lot of products claiming to be “natural”.

In addition to being cruelty-free, they are natural (free of many chemicals, including fragrance, phthalates, SLS, etc.), use biodegradable materials for their packaging, and don’t cost a fortune.

I love Laura Mercier… everything Laura Mercier. Especially the tinted moisturizers.

Burt’s Bees chapstick and I like their Volumizing shampoo/conditioner too.

I really like ELF blushes and their lipglosses, for a light/sheer/barely-there lip color.

Organix shampoo/conditioner.

Revlon Colorstay foundation.

100% Pure products are pretty incredible.

Stila liquid liner is absolutely amazing. I wear it every single day!

Physician’s Formula everything.

@auroraborealis:  I use Revlon Colorstay on a near daily basis. Revlon is a cruelty free brand and they have an excellent selection for face products! I also like Laura Mercier’s foundations and tinted moisturizers. Nars Sheer Glow foundation is great. Bare Minerals foundations are great, if you like powder.

@6598731ssfse3:  unfortunately Revlon is listed on the PETA web site as testing on animals, so they are no longer cruelty free  🙁
