@UK Bride:  Hey I was induced by choice with both of my children and it was pretty smooth process with both. With my first I was brought in about 6am and given pitocin and it took awhile for that to work after a few hours they checked me and I was moving kinda slow so they upped it and after about another few hours they broke my water and then things really started to move after about an hr I got an epidural and a cath since I was on a iv and obviously couldn’t get up to pee or anything and then after a few more hours it was time to push took me an hour to push but she was healthy. All in all it took about 12 hrs. My second was very similar but it was only about 8 hrs including pushing and he only took 3 pushes to get him out. I don’t regret choosing to have it done and would do it again. Post birth was great they cleaned them up and then they stayed with me the whole time. I wasn’t aware of the skin to skin thing until about a yr ago and I didn’t breast feed. But both of those would have been totally possible afterword.

@UK Bride:  thanks!!! :). I have to check in at 5:30 AM, then they will start me on pitocin, my OB will break my water when she comes in at around 9 and then hopefully smooth sailing from there! I’m already at a 3 with 70% eff, so I hope it doesn’t take too too long!

good luck to you! Can’t wait to see those pretty girls

Okay, first – good luck @MrsMaskatoBe:!!

I had an elective induction with my son. It was 5 years ago so forgive me for not remembering the exact times anymore. I checked in around 5:30 or so. Paperwork, changed into a gown, nursing assessment, IV started, put me on the monitors, etc. Around 8 or 8:30 my OB came in, checked me out and reviewed all of my paperwork. Probably half an hour later, she broke my water and they started the pitocin. They never had to increase my pitocin. My son was born just before 5pm.

I had a great birthing experience!
