I am collecting some ideas of what to have at my house for food and drink. Let me know what you are providing/provided!
The girls will be at my house for the breakfast and lunch, I want them to feel spoiled and for us to not feel starved by the time the reception happens lol!

MissLibra: Good for you for thinking of this detail! I was once in a wedding where we weren’t fed until the reception. I thought I was going to pass out on the altar! LOL!
We still have about a year until our wedding and it will be in a hotel, but we’ve requested a mimosa and bloody mary bar, as well as a yogurt bar with fresh fruit toppings! I think we will also do a muffin and bagel spread for the morning.
For lunch we still don’t know so I’ll check back on this thread for the ideas of others 🙂 we may just order in to the hotel!

For DDs weddin we had breakfast at the hotel and then had mimosas in her room while we got ready. For lunch, I ordered box lunches from Panera for everyone and that worked out really well.
Kudos for taking care of your peeps!

Thinking of some trays of cheese, veggies, meats and crackers/breads for the guys and the girls getting ready. We want something high in protein to get through the afternoon.

Our venue provided bbq chicken skewers, mini mushroom and fontina puff pastries, spankikopita, champagne, fruit and cheese trays. We had an evening wedding, so we didn’t even start getting ready until around noon.

We will be getting ready at the venue mostly (country club) maybe start in the hotel if we have to start really early. I planned on just letting them order whatever they want/some appetizers while we are getting ready at the venue. If we start at the hotel, May order a little something there or have someone run to Starbucks 🙂 idt any of us are really breakfast ppl so may just wait to order food at the country club for lunch 🙂

I got a big tray of Chick-Fil-A nuggets and they also have a salad “tray”. CFA nuggets are my absolute favorite so I knew I had to have them while getting ready.

Mimosas, coffee, wine, water and light breakfast fare at the salon in the morning. Sandwich tray and beverages in the bridal suite until late afternoon. Cheese and crackers in the limo for pre-ceremony photos. Get married. A few more photos post-ceremony at the venue with caterers bringing around apps to us. After that, the feedbag will be strapped on.

Thanks for the ideas. For those who just did cheese and fruit trays, did you find that was enough? I’ve been in a few weddings but it always seems like we are starving by the time dinner rolls around and the little finger foods didn’t really replace eating a full meal.
I was thinking of doing some fruit trays and croissants with cheese for breakfast. With a mimosa/punch mixture and coffee (I have a Keurig so they can make whatever they want).
I am more stumped at the lunch items, it will be “served” during makeup- there are 4 people getting makeup done by one makeup artist so this will be spread out over a few hours. I don’t want anything too messy and nothing too greasy!

I did a breakfast spread for my wedding party (and other friends at the hotel who came by to hang out) and we had champagne, juices, yogurt, fruit, muffins, and other pastries. I didn’t think ahead to have lunch at the venue (we got ready starting at 10ish and left the hotel at 2, but the food lasted because there was a lot!) but it was fine and we had a few snacks at the venue from 2:30 until the ceremony at 4. Maybe you could get a salad tray and some assorted sandwiches and fruit for lunch? Then people could eat what suits them and have a salad option. Good luck!

- Wedding: December 2014 - Columbia, SC
MissLibra: My venue has lodges that we can rent. Since we can not have food in them I am thinking one of two things, sending the FI over to get biscuits for everyone while we are in the main event venue decorating or taking everyone for a big breakfast before coming back to get ready.

MissLibra: My bridal party and I were at the salon, and they salon had mimosas and a breakfast platter for us.
After we were done at the salon- we just had wine LoL because by the time we got back it was time to get dressed, take pictures, and then off to the church!

On my wedding day we did Starbucks coffee from the hotel’s lobby. Then we walked a few blocks down to see my friend who came in from out of town and had his new baby with him and on the way back we stopped at a convenience store and I got a banana and muffin for me, a turkey sandwich and iced tea for my maid of honor, and a three-piece fried chicken for my bridesmaid (weird I know but we’re not really breakfast food people). I can’t remember what my mom had.
