I’ve had a recurring dream that’s making it hard to sleep at night because I am so afraid to go back to the dream.
It’s always the same, it’s my wedding and for the whole day, the photographer and DJ does not show up.
We don’t have a back up plan. And the next day I am feverishly thinking about getting some kind of back up plan and making a playlist or something and even thinking about placing a deposit with a second photographer so that at the very least, its highly unlikely that both won’t make it.
I am terrified of this happening. There is no reason to have these fears, everyone I’ve hired has amazing reviews on yelp or referred to by family friends who have had great weddings.
Someone tell me something that will make these nightmares go away. They are so irrational!

elliptical2013: I dreamt my future husband asked me if he could sleep with my sister after they were both already undressed and in bed together. We got into a huge fight and I called off the wedding. I woke up quite miserable.

LilRhodyGem: omg, no amount of reassurance from FI would make me feel better if I woke up after that kind of a nightmare. that could possibly ruin my whole day and Id be snarky too…

I have the same nightmare every time. It’s the day of the wedding, invitations were never sent, and I CAN’T FIND MY SHOES.
Silly brain. I am an ultra-planner. This will never happen.

- Wedding: September 2014 - Villa Celeste
My fear is less about the wedding itself and more about getting there. We’re doing a destination, international, which always gives me anxiety. I have fears about our flight getting cancelled or delayed. We live in LA so the probability of that happening is slim, but still it somewhat haunts me haha

I’m arriving at the ceremony by boat with my dad…my recurring nightmare is that, just as the music starts and everyone turns to look, I lose my footing and fall in the lake!

I keep having nightmares about totally ridiculous and irrational things that, for the most part, even if they did happen, no one would even notice. I’m serious. These are ridiculous:
– I keep having dreams that the band we hired doesn’t play songs between meal courses as they are served (LOL)
– I had a dream that I forgot to make an appointment to have my hair done and every hair salon in the greater Philadelphia area is closed. I am 4 1/2 hours late as a result. (Come on, I could put my hair in a bun myself! PUHLEASE!)

What has given you peace of mind to disregard these irrational fears during the planning process?

I’ve had dreams a few times about me not having enough time to get ready on my wedding day. One time I had my dress on, but my hair was wet and not done with no make-up, and another time I didn’t even have time to put my dress on, I had to get married in my most hated outfit

I’m not even into the depth of planning yet and I’ve had the same dream a few times!
It’s the night before our wedding and I suddenly realise that I don’t have a dress. Me and my entire family rush out to the shops and it’s like 3am and I’m walking into bridal shops and being told they’re out of stock, and eventually I just panic until the dream changes. Not so fun.
I can only imagine that’ll get worse the further in we get…

Fainting at the alter from the sheer nerves and anxiety!

I just had my first last night. It was a doozy:
1. Someone has brought his cousins to the wedding and there’s no room for them.
2. Most of my grade-school friends showed up and I KNOW I didn’t invite them.
3. My dress is still at the seamstress’ shop and I don’t have enough cash to retrieve it from her, so I sob.
4. The florist didn’t show up.
5. I gave my last $30 to the seamstress so I can’t buy flowers at the grocery store.
6. The ceremony is running 40 minutes behind and my fiance doesn’t care.

I had some serious nightmares in the early stages of planning, but they mostly calmed down. But I woke up this morning after having the nightmare that someone went into the bridal shop right after I had a fitting for my dress and took the dress! My wedding is a little over a month away, so I was obviously panicked and since the dress comes from out of the country (Pronovias), they were saying they wouldn’t be able to send another one in time. The bridal salon kept giving me all these dresses I hated and trying to get me to wear them instead. I was a bit freaked out when I woke up but now I’m fine of course. I think it was because I had a fitting last week and go in for another in 2 weeks for some major changes…
