Hi bees, any advice?
Background: I initially had a hair and makeup trial booked for this weekend with a pair of girls who work together. I ended up finding another makeup artist so I changed my request and asked to only do hair for this weekend.
The makeup girl is the ‘boss’ and all my communication with the hair lady goes through her. (I am not sure of all the details of their arrangement.)
Last Wednesday, I asked the makeup girl to ask the hair girl if we can push back my hair trial by 2 hours. Today is Monday (it has been 5 days!) and the makeup girl told me she cant get a hold of the hair girl and that they are playing phone tag. I called the makeup girl today to let her know I am concerned about the situation. To me, vendors that are not good about communication = red flag. I want to work with people who value their customers and value their business.
The makeup girl insisted that the hair girl is normally very good but imo making a customer wait for 5 days is a bad sign. (I had to chase the makeup girl for an update on the situation too—-no one updated me about this so I called the makeup girl today)
What would you guys do? I am tempted to call the trial off because of this bad communication so far….
