I have used AAA Rentals in Garden City before for birthday parties and was always happy with them. However, I have only rented tables, chairs, etc and not tents. But it might be worth your friend giving them a call though.

I know this was a really long time ago... but for anyone that is looking now, I am using InTents Rentals in LI for my backyard wedding and they are incredible. They just started out so the prices are really good and they are more than willing to work with me on every detail. They have been very patient with all the changes my mom and I keep making and overall are great. They come highly recommended from our caterer, Seaqua Catering.
