My daughter is getting married this September at a very nice country club. They have 2 reception “halls”…one is inside and the other is held in a large tent right off the golf course. We are having the wedding outside and the reception in the tent. ( the ceremony will be held in the tent if its raining)
I’m not sure how to word this on the invitations. We dont want guests going inside to the wrong wedding, yet I dont want to say “reception to be held in the tent”. Its not really a garden, its basically off the golf course. I thought of saying reception reception to be held in the Grand Tent but that sounds kind of silly….

So, the wedding and reception are at the same location? I think it would be ok to put at the bottom of the wedding invitations “Outdoor reception to follow” or “Open-air reception to follow” or something like that.

I would just list the Golf Course as the venue then work with their staff to ensure there was clear signage directing guests to th proper location.

I second just working with the venue. I am sure they already have a system as they must deal with double weddings frequently. I attended a wedding in a similar situation (but was attending the ballroom reception not the tented reception). Everyone naturally went outside but before we got near to the tent, there was a sign directing the two weddings and we realized we were inside. Wait staff should also know in order to direct lost guests. Other than that, I would just spread the word via a website or word of mouth. My biggest concern is to warn women not to wear stilettos so as not to sink into the grass.

@slicey19: What she said, especially about the stilettos.
