I’m posting this because I’m still a little upset, definitely still shocked and I want to save any Toronto brides/maids or anyone else from this experience.
I booked an appt AND called in to Windsor Bridals to confirm the morning of, both times feeling like I was a bother. When we arrived, a young lady at the desk was on the phone so we waited. Even after she was done, we weren’t acknowledged at all. Later, the owner half-assed gave us a salesgirl who looked like she was forced to be there, didn’t even get her name. She said “Bridesmaids dresses are over there”, then I told her the specific style number we wanted, they didn’t have it so she pulled something similar. We were left to fend for ourselves to fit it on different body types with one lone clip. When we were happy with the way it looked, she was halfway through writing up an order, when I asked for the price ($279). I said that was a little too high for me to ask them to spend (+ tax and alterations could end up being close to $500, being that we have two expecting bridesmaids). We talked it over as a group, as I wasn’t yet comfortable with them spending that much. The owner overheard & said he’ll take off tax. I really appreciated it but still couldn’t go through with it since my budget was $150-200 pre-tax & alterations (pretty reasonable if you ask me). Then he proceeded to belittle us/me saying we didn’t know what we were talking about, it’s impossible to find a dress for that $, whatever we choose will just tear like cheap “Honda leather” as opposed to his store’s “Ferrari leather” dress, among others things. Meanwhile, I’m thinking people have beautiful weddings where the brides dress cost less than that, that his sales tactics are terrible and that he lost our sale the moment he said something like “no offence, then your dresses were not that good quality” to my SIL when we said her beautiful BM dresses cost $180 or so. On my way out he said “This one thinks she can get a dress for $200” and his minions laughed in my face while I said thank you for your time. RUDE! I was shocked yet content that they didn’t get our money. Please don’t shop here. There’s better service ANYWHERE! It really ruined the day. Luckily, we remembered a small boutique on Avenue Rd. walked in with no appointment and were treated like gold even though it was only one lady and she already had a bride there. If you’re in the area, PM me and I’ll let you know which boutique it is that I HIGHLY recommend. I don’t mean for this post to be an ad or attack, just watching Bees backs. No one should be subject to that kind of service.
