Terrible for you foods with healing properties

Okay, I know this sounds silly, but I swear - Taco Bell must have been specifically designed to heal my every ailment. When my sister feels a migraine coming on, Taco Bell is the only thing she can eat - she seriously hardcore craves it. Anyway, I've somehow gotten it in my head that this is something that can "heal" me too.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good, solid, healthy meal and how it powers my body, but whenever I'm not feeling well - from a headache/migraine coming on to being hungover or just super tired - Taco Bell it is. One bite of their beefy goodness and I'm feeling so much better.

What terrible-for-you foods heal you or never fail to make you feel better?

This is pretty hilarious! Not terrible for me, but rice always seems to help an upset stomach (sipping on a Coke seems to help, too). Chocolate always seems to help headaches for me, but I don't get migraines.

Tastycake Cupcakes. Doesn't matter what the problem is, or how you are feeling. They.will.make.it.better. Extra special healing powers go to the ones with icing in the middle.

@Aure: I would never have thought to eat rice with an upset stomach - it makes sense though. And yeah, haha - I know I'm rediculous. I told my husband that I never could have married someone who didn't like Taco Bell - thank goodness he craves it more than I do!

@MrsSl82be: YES! That's an ailment I forgot to mention since I've been on the pill for years now, but I'm sure Taco Bell will help with period symptoms! Do it! haha.

I'm gonna put in a vote for McDonald's french fries (especially dipped in a vanilla shake).

Pretty much any sweet, carb-filled thing, but what really does it for me is the S'mores Poptarts. Any time I feel sick, blah, or stressed in any way, I eat a couple of Poptarts (HAS to be the S'mores flavor, none of the other ones work) and I feel way better. I keep a box on my desk at work at all times "in case of emergency" because I have a fairly busy job and I get stressed easily, so I am constantly reaching for my vice.

My comfort food is definitely McDonalds.  Haha.  But just the simple little hamburgers and fries.

@MsLotus: Ooooh, totally agree on the Mac and Cheese!  I think that's my absolute favorite food!  I don't like the plain boxed stuff, but Kraft makes Thick and Creamy and Three Cheese varieties, and they are sooooo yummy!

@JediAshley: Same!! except cheeseburgers for me.  Two cheeseburgers always cheers me right up.  I used to get upset at myself, but when i calculated the calories and it actually isn't *that* bad.  I mean.  Its not good, but its not like want to kill yourself from guilt bad.

The thing is, the other thing that never fails to make me feel better is going for a short/fast run.  Unfortunately, I always seem to choose 2 cheeseburgers over running!

@ScarletBegonia: We are the same person! *kicks running shoes out of the way as I walk out the door to McDonalds* Hehehe. A cheeseburger and a small fry, mmmmmm. Those are my angry foods. If I'm hungry and someone made me mad, I get my little dollar menu fix.

And a hot fudge sunday (with extra fudge, that's where the magical powers are).

@teenybird:I second McDonald's fries. They always make me feel better no matter what! A Wendy's frostie is always a good dipping option too :)

    - For bad cramps, red wine totally does the trick to relax my lady organs.

    - I know this is probably the most ridiculous thing to say (and the opposite of everything I've ever read about upset stomachs), but after a stomach bug/getting sick the only food I can ever consider eating is sharp cheddar cheese. For some reason the thought of toast or rice (the foods they recommend) makes me feel sick again. Cheese just makes everything better.

    @ScarletBegonia:

LOL I'm totally the same way. A nice run really makes me feel better every single time. It's so much more fun to eat the junk though!

I have to agree with McDonald's fries! I think it comes from when I was little and home sick my mom would always stop at the drive through on the way home from the doctor for lunch (not if I had the stomach bug though obviously lol).  However now I am on my wedding diet... I would kill for some of those fries!!!!! Just have to make it to December 30... :)

A Tim Hortons sour cream glazed donut could probably make me forget I had a broken limb. The rest of the world does not exist while I'm eating one of those.

Red wine for stress/cramps/the blues, a DQ banana milkshake when sick, or Arbys for a hangover!

@linguo42: off topic, but one of my facebook friends posted a picture of the new Tim Hortons size of coffee that they sell - not sure if its the XXL, or the Megalarge - but it is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! It must be illegal to sell that much caffeine in one hit!

Coke seems to do the trick for me. I usually don't drink soda because it makes my acid reflux 594509324 times worse, but when I'm sick nothing is more magical than a straight up cold coke. (Diet Coke doesn't work, it has to be the original, also - pepsi doesn't work either.)

@ScarletBegonia: Apparently it's comparable to some of the largest sizes elsewhere, but I agree, it's overkill. Cheap, delicious overkill...lol. I'll admit, when winter rolls around I'll probably succumb to an extra-large hot chocolate.
