Wow that is rude! I live right next to the Restaurant and thought it was classier than that!
Yep. You would think that as much as they charge for dinner there you could get some nice service... I guess money doesn't buy class
I'm always in Portland (will be there in 2 weeks actually! so excited!) so I'll be sure to avoid going here!!!
Her email back to you was TOTALLY uncalled for even if you were a bit rude to them (like you mentioned, but at least you know you were!) She was probably having a pissy day, but still.
I have always worked in customer service and even if someone is rude to me I would NEVER be rude back.
@Ryansgirl: I had been having a rough day as it was and after constant pressuring for my phone number and the pushy email from the owner before the one I posted above, I had enough with this business. Yes I did get a bit moody
but like you said, her reply was uncalled for. She should have just left it alone instead of creating a bigger problem.
@VikingPrincess: I have worked in customer service my entire working career as well. It's understood whether you're at a fast food place or a high end restuarant that you are not suppose to fuel the fire of a customer complaint. I guess they haven't learned this yet in their own business.
wow!! You would think they might want people to book weddings with them......but I guess not!
they are horrible... i emailed them for info and they called me back ask what my budget was. laughed at me and hung up.. twenty minutes later another guy called and was like u could have ur rehersal dinner here... if i couldnt.wouldnt afford you for my wedding what would make u believe i would want my rehersal there especially if u laugh at my fifteen thousand dollar budget...
I am so sorry to hear that they treated you in that way. I wish you the best of luck finding a venue that is just right for your ceremony.

Hey everyone. I'm new here but wanted to give everyone the heads up of a bad local wedding venue. I emailed Meriwether's Restaurant and Skyline Farm a while back asking if they could email me with information about their venue and I even asked specific questions about pricing and date, etc. Well I received several emails asking for my phone number so they could call me. With my busy schedule I had no time to reply at the moment so I let them slide until I received an email from their owner. She seemed stressed that I hadn't given them a phone number and how they have tried "contacting me to no avail." (her own words) Well finally, they got a reply from me. I apologize how my wedding seemed to be putting stress upon them and that my busy schedule didn't allow me to take personal calls at the moment and that I would have called for more details had I known they couldn't email them to me. (I must admit I was a bit snobby in my email but after several pesky emails and a very rude email from their owner, I had had enough.) I went on to say how they made my planning easier by showing me I could check them off my list of preferred venodrs (again probably not the kindest reply but I was done with this business' pressuring) Now her reply to my email should have been something like "I apologize for bothering you and sorry that it isn't going to work out. Good luck on your search and thank you for your time." That is how any professional business would react but no....this is the reply I got back:
