Aaahhhh!! That is so tragic!! Bride must be very insecure to do that!! The bridal party reflects the whole wedding, why wouldn’t u want them looking as stunning as possible! So weird! Have u got a pic you can share?? Blur their faces if u need!!

I can’t imagine doing that to my Bridesies (as I like to call them)… We went shopping, my MOH picked the color and then I let them pick the dress that they looked the best in. I am certain my girls will look better than me, they are both skinnier than me with better hair, lol.. But I wanted them to have dresses they liked and they would feel comfortable in.

Yeah, I can’t imagine doing that. My bridesmaids are all good looking, but I just see that as more motivation for me to work out! I let them all pick the dress they wanted so that they would look good!

Oh gosh, really? A bride would do that? How sad. She could have just opted out of having bridesmaids in the first place, problem solved and nobody gets hurt. She must be awfully insecure. Poor bridesmaids!

But I really don’t know why I’m so surprised. A friend (or, more accurately, a “frenemy”) once pretty much demanded of me to not curl my hair for her wedding so I wouldn’t look prettier than her. I wasn’t even going to be in the bridal party, just invited as a guest! Fortunately they then decided to elope. I don’t know what I would have done otherwise. I’d probably wear my hair in a braid but also wear the most eye-catching, bright red dress I could find. She has this way of making others feel bad about themselves so she can triumph over them and I’ve just had it with this attitude. Looks like this bride is her twin!

@Payless:  I know, right? Nobody is ugly unless they choose to do ugly things to others!

My sister was a bridesmaid in a wedding where the bride did exactly that.

She told them that she didn’t want any of them to outshine her… and then got them to pay $150 each for dresses that looked like cheap shiny pink parachutes.

@Payless:  I agree with you 100% when I am judging other people, but when I am looking at myself in pictures, I am more critical of specific things, like my arms. If I want to look my best at my wedding, my solution is to improve what I can about myself to fit my definition of what I like for myself, which for me is toning/losing weight.

@Payless:  lol I’m sure! I just really need to get in shape, I feel so gross now that it’s hot, it’s so much easier to get out of breath with all the humidity. I really will probably only lose about 3 lbs, but that makes a huge difference on my frame.

That’s so cool that you’re a healthy eating instructor, I would love to have that job!! I’m an SAT instructor and I’m always telling my kids what to eat to make their brains work better =)

Wow… I love my bridesmaids way too much to do that to them. I’ll admit, one of my bridesmaids looks KILLER in the dress she chose and I know people will be looking at her because of how beautiful she’s going to look but I don’t care… Ultimately, the choices that are made for your wedding day reflect on the BRIDE and GROOM not the poor girls having to wear it. If they’re dressed in terrible dresses, everyone will realize that the girls didn’t choose them. I’m letting my girls choose their own dresses… Different styles, different fabrics, different shades of pink. With different complexions, one shade of pink might look horrible on some where it’d look great on others. I want my bridesmaids to look AND feel pretty on my wedding day.

I’m so worried people will think this about the dresses I chose. None of my bridesmaids tried it on (despite me asking and even giving them directions to stores so they could). They didn’t care. I just hope they end up looking good so people don’t think I did something bad on purpose.
