Is anyone else terrified of DIY? I keep finding all these great ideas, deciding I can make them, and then nixing the idea because I dont want them to look like crap! At this point I feel like I am either going to spend way to much money buying instead of making or just have the plainest wedding ever!

@Crazeebee3: Trial and error 🙂
Maybe you can buy cheap materials for practicing until you get good at making whatever it is…then you can spend the money on the quality materials knowing you will rock it!!

@Crazeebee3: Don’t worry the best way to start down the DIY rabbit hole is to start small. What about Thank You cards? Try buying cheap bulk blank cards and decorating with a stamp or a ribbon accent. Move on and up from there. If you’re into deocrations Flower Cones are very easy to make and fun to imbellish, Aisle Runners while they are time consuming can be pretty easy. If you’re really adventurous you could try making a guest book or other decoration accents. Just start out, take it slow, remember that I little goes a long way and give yourself plenty of time…
As much as I love DIY there are a few things I would never DIY, my wedding dress and wedding cake are two.
PS – DIY does not necessarily mean cheaper, if you don’t watch your costs those little things can end up being more expensive than buying it pre-made. It’s all about balance.

@renwoman: Thanks for the advice! I think I will try the thank yous! I think my biggest problem is my short attention span. I have nightmares about my house being covered in started projects!
