So, I work in the nonprofit sector and used to do fundraising. The typical trend is to thank a donor before cashing the check. I honestly do not know the etiquette for weddings though.
I have given check gifts to 3 weddings. Two of the couples wrote their thank you notes before cashing the checks, but recently, my cousin (got married 2 1/2 months ago) cashed the check a week after the wedding and no thank you note yet. She also cashed my mother’s check about 4 months ago (before the wedding) and has not sent her a thank you note. I am not upset or anything, but it got me thinking…
I know you wait until after the wedding to write thank you notes, but is there a typical etiquette for cashing a check/thank you note response time?
Thanks for the input bees!
