- Wedding: November 2013
We invited a married couple who are my MIL’s good friends, and even though they both RSVP’d that they’d attend the wedding, only the wife showed up. They gave us $200, and I’m writing the thank you card right now.
Usually in the thank you card, I would thank the guest for their generous gift, and if they attended the wedding I’d also write that it was great that they could come celebrate with us on our big day, and if the guest hadn’t attending the wedding but sent a gift, I’d write that we are thankful that they thought of us on our wedding day.
What would you write to a couple where one person was a no show? I should mention that we received no explanation as to why the husband wasn’t there. Not that we really mind because we don’t know them very well, and it didn’t affect our day at all, but I just want to make sure I say the right thing on the thank you card.
