Oh man, I was so unmotivated to do our thank you notes. My best advice is to divid them up and try to set a goal for yourself. I made myself do 10 a day for a while, until they were done. I also asked my husband to help--he wrote the notes for his family and I did mine.
So glad they are done now! I didn't have the hardest time since the wedding was small.
We've been married not quite a month yet. The 28th will be exactly a month. I haven't done any yet. Me and the DH are planning on getting the thank you cards done during Christmas and new years. I can feel the procratinating starting already. I don't know what to say. I don't want it to feel like I'm writing the same message to everyone. But yet, I don't want it to be a novel because then I will never get the 100 thank you notes that I have to do out. The DH said he would do his side. I hope he keeps his word.
My DH suggested writing it on the computer... I'm like... NO!
I'm still doing mine ... I am really trying to get them done before new years because I don't want to still be writing thank you cards in 2010! And we don't even have that many!
Advice to the SoontoBees---Whatever you do...get on a roll and keep going. Don't stop. Prepare your FI that he needs to be on it too and get you guys motivated. Prepare for the struggle to fight procrastination.
Congrats! Isn't it a great feeling to get them done?!?! I forced my husband to write 1/2 of them... that totallllly helped alleviate some of the stress :)
I literally had a knot in my stomach till all our thank you cards were sent out. Some didn't get sent out till 6 months after our wedding.
I made myself do them by watching reruns and drinking wine. I did 20 a night until they were done. Blegh. Necessary evils, I tell you!
I just sent the last batch off! 3-4 months after the wedding. I felt awful about it, but I'm so happy they're gone!
We had a week between our wedding and honeymoon...and I did all 150 of them that week! I drove my husband nuts but it was so nice to come home and not have to worry about finding time to get them all done. They are kind of a bummer to write.
Worked on them last night, need to write 3 more. Also need stamps, that's it they are addressed and done, should be out with morning mail tomorrow! So happy it's all over.
Congrats on getting all yours done 808 (and you other organized folks too)!
Mine are still in progress...I've always been able to get TY cards done within a week of whatever event (showers, graduation etc) but this is a huge pile! I'm hoping to have it all done by New Years though.
See, I love handwriting cards and letters. I'm kindof looking forward to them a little bit . . . we'll see if I change my tune after the wedding :)
I don't mind writing thank you notes usually but I sprained my right wrist a few months ago and writing is so painful. I really wanted to type mine as well but I tried to get each bunch done after each shower to stay on track.

Even though I was organized, excited, had help....it was still painstaking to get those last 30 cards out. Aaaaaah. I'm so glad I'm done. We were done with 125 within the first month but then stalled for the next few months and now here I am celebrating in relief by finishing up within the 3 months post-wedding deadline. Can't tell you how good I feel...did anyone have a really hard time?!
