The girls at my office had a bridal shower for me today. Several people, including some men, contributed to the shower / gift even though they did not attend the shower. I want to write thank you cards for each person, but feel strange doing this for the men. I work in a law firm and some of these guys are attorneys that I don’t even work for – is it weird to give these guys thank you cards?

Definitely write a brief note thanking them for their contribution.

It’s better to receive an unexpected thank you than to receive nothing when you expected one!

at my work, the group/department has receievd one big card as a thank you to all who contributed to it… probably not the best etiquette-wise, but i never had issues with it or even though about it until now!

Definitely treat the men who chipped in on the gift the same as the women.
Just think how you would feel if you contributed to someone’s gift and were the only one not to receive a thank-you note.
