@kc3636: To me anything more than 8 weeks is pushing it. Ours were out in 7weeks and the first 6 were spent waiting for the pro photos come in and then ordering the photo cards. Then I banged out all the cards in a week.
There are just no excuses for taking months and months to send out thank you cards. No matter how busy you are, you make the time to thank your loved ones who came to your wedding to celebrate with you and spent time and money getting a gift for you.
we came back from our weeklong honeymoon and i got started. i told myself i couldn't deposit any gift checks or use any gifts OR work on putting together our wedding video until i did it! i sent them out earlier this week, so like 3 1/2 weeks.
@Moose1209: Years ago my parents went to a wedding where they NEVER got a thank you card! And it was for the daughter of a neighbor up the street who used to babysit for me. When she had a kid, they sent a present for that and never received a thank you for that either (so it's not like the wedding thank you got lost).
I haven't gotten married yet so I didn't take part in the poll, but I'm thinking within a month of wedding is pretty acceptable.
I agree with @Moose1209: I actually had ours out within 2 weeks of the wedding, I got some of them done while on the plane ride to Hawaii for our honeymoon and then some more on the ride home. I know that a friend of mine's daughter got married at the end of June and I never received a thank you note, so I emailed the mom just to make sure that she had received the gift since I didn't go to the wedding, but mailed the gift and then soon after that I received an email from the daughter saying that it must have gotten lost!! I don't think so, also my cousin got married around the same time and I never received a thank you card from her either, but I did email her as well and ask if they received it, knowing that they had and she said that she just hadn't found the time and this was about 5 months later!!! I just think it is rude not to get them out right away! I'm still waiting on another cousin who got married in Sept. for her thank you card, but she is the sister of the one I previously mentioned, so I'm thinking I won't see it:)
Ours were sent out within 7- 8 weeks but because we were waiting on our photographer to make our tyc with our wedding photos. If your having a regular card without pictures I think it should be done under a month. My shower tyc I had out a week later. Many weddings I've been to it's been months to almost a year which I don't agree with.
@stormy9973: I still haven't received thank you cards from weddings I went to in May and July of this year. I'm not holding my breath. Somehow they found time to get to the bank to cash the checks though....
I think it depends on
1) how long your honeymoon is
2) If you are doing a photocard. If I receive a photo thank you card, I know it takes a while to get the photo from the photog, then to print them, then to write them vs more simple thank you notes.
So if you have a two week honeymoon and a photo card I think 2-3 months max.
@kc3636: I voted 1 monthor under but i had them out in about 2 weeks. I had purchased cards already that I liked and then i just printed off a nice 4x6 of my favorite wedding pic and added a nice clean border....that way i was able to get everything out the door right away.
I’m going to work on them tonight and through the weekend so hopefully we’ll be able to send ours out early next week which would get them to our guests at around the 5-6 week mark. We opted to go with photo cards so we had to wait to get the pro pics back and then order the thank you’s. Our pro pics came in while we were on our HM so it took about a month turnaround to actually have the thank you's in our possession (they came in earlier this week).
I’d say anything over 8 weeks is pushing it but it also depends on what the couple has going on. If the newlyweds left on their honeymoon and then bought a house all within 2 months of the wedding then I wouldn’t blame them for pushing the thank you’s back a few additional weeks. Anything over 3 months is no bueno.
We would like to do photo cards.. so we will have to wait for our photogs to get back to us with pics! IDK how long that takes.. but after that .. we will get some photo cards and prob get them out within a couple days of recieving the cards!

Just wondering everyone's timelines for getting their thank you cards out. If you arent married and you were a guest in your opinion what is exceptable time frame?
